Hello ladies,
I have been doing acrylics for a few years and started doing p&W I have done myself a set and infilled them today but on the free edge some of them look like the new white acrylic has been filed off

Am i putting the white on to thin ?? i dont want to make it bulky on the free edge !

Sounds like you could be hun or
when you have placed the white on the free edge you are not letting it settle for long enough before moving it around into place hth

Hi Lissa,

Have a read of this hun.....http://www.salongeek.com/nail-application/8885-brush-control-part-3-smile-line.html

It does sound like you are over filing the free edge in the first place (zone 1) and applying too thin.

When I rebalance, I file down the bulk at the stress area to de-bulk, then file over the free edge area to even out a little, usual filing in zone 3. Then apply your white back where it should be.

I hope this makes sense. Don't do too much work with the file than you have too. You can still keep thin nails if you apply just below the smile then using the brush push the smile into place pull down to the free edge, sculpting with your brush as you go - this ensures you don't need to do much filing at the end to refine.

Get Gigi book called 'Nailclass' it's really and excellent educational book & you'll wonder how you managed without it.

Good luck xx
