How long do you spend for a full set of nails? Do I put too much on little details? How can I make faster? What should I tell the salon owner if she doesn't understand the process of nails preparation. What should I do if I try to explain the different between sheer and opaque ink and she didn't understand.

Please help, I'm struggling between being a good nail technician and being a good employee...

I don't think it matters how much time other people spend doing a full set ... and it depends on what you are doing them on!!

What matters is that you do a good full set in a reasonable time and YOUR INDUSTRY says that the reasonable time is 1.5 hours.

Salon owners who do not do the job themselves are notorious for wanting everything done in the quickest possible time ... time is money. But it should also be in their interest for you to do the best job you can do .. for without good preparation the job won't last and the clients will not return so it would be stupid to 'throw' on a full set in 45 minutes and then not have it last and have disgruntled clients who leave the salon.

AS for her understanding opaque as opposed to sheer pink .. what is she thick?? One you can see through and one you can't? Not sure why she needs to know anyway ... it doesn't take longer to do one or the other.

My advice is do not sacrifice your standard of work just to please your boss time wise. As long as you are taking a reasonable time to do the job and the clients are happy with the result and returning to you ... your boss should be more than happy.

Sheer/opaque - Tell her to think like pairs of tights lol. Sheer ones are like the thin, often skintone ones you can see through. Opaque are like your thick black winter ones that you can't see through.

Does that help?

Thank you for advice....
