Hi all just need a little help, i've been asked if i would paint some girls nails and do some nail art at a youth club, is there any need for consent forms etc the girls will be under sixteen, thanks in advance.xx

Most definitely get consent forms if the girls are under 16! Protect yourself and check with your insurance because I think its a requirement.

Whenever someone under 16 asks me to do their nail, I always get mum or dad or guardian to sign the consultation card as well. Its good practice was advised...

Getting a CRB done as well is a good thing so you cover all bases if you are ever asked to provide any paperwork!

Hope it goes well xx

Hi,

I would assume that the youth club would have let the parents know what saught of activities were going on , so that you could go on about your work with no problems...I suppose at the end of the day, if the parents are really against their kids wearing polish, they'd just get them to take it off!

Thanks for your reply, i'm doing it for a councillor who is also my client, she said she would sort out the consent forms and the club has insurance, im not sure what should be on the form?? Nail extensions and nail art are my thing, i always fill out a consultation form and do a patch test on every new client, just need a little help with this one xx

I've done a few youth parties lately (a birthday party for a 7 year old girl was the youngest) i would definitely get permission slips, you probably wont need them, but you might as well cover all the bases. i also always give the girls a single use nail polish remover paket (the ones with the little remover pad inside), that way if their parents want to take it off they're good to go!
