problem with eyelash extensions

Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I had my first client in for eyelash extensions at the weekend, it went well and she purchased the mascara. I've had a text from my client this morning to say shes having a nightmare with one eye, she's been applying the mascara but the lashes have all clumped together and as shes tried to seperate them shes pulled a lot of them out. She's coming this evening for me to sort them for her but i was just wondering if anyone knows why they would have gone like that?

I take it it was an oil free mascara?

At a guess I'd say too much mascara or not cleaning them properly. It's probably the mascara that's clumping together and not the adhesive if they were all seperated when she left you and she followed proper aftercare.

remember as well that the mascara should only be applied to the tips of the lashes, not all the way up xx

Thanks for your replies, she did say during her appointment that she likes to apply a lot of mascara. Her lashes were all seperated when she left so i think thats the problem.

can you tell me what mascara it was, and also it could be the glue used.
a combination of weak glue and mascara that is sold as tear proof is realy water proof and a nightmare to get off, and how and what did she use to remove the eye mascara.
so a mix of weak glue tear proof mascara and remover with a little bit of rubbing
and maybe a few other things that she does in her sleep
