I have been having problems with minx when I'm removing excess with the file if the free edge is short on the toes especially silver lightning it seems to be really rough as I find it so hard to file it off when I can't get the 45 degree angle under the free edge it takes ages and just pulls the minx up and ruffles it. Hope that makes sense I'm pants at explaining things!! Just wanting any advise anyone has? Thanks xx

You have to get a really good smooth edge by pulling on the minx quite firmly and making sure it is right over the free edge. I clip the excess with nail clippers as near as I can to the free edge and then file, I also don't use a glass file I use a CND kanga board to file the excess off. HTHs x

I've used clippers too and it works fine.

I also use clippers then file in a north south motion x

Thanks for your replies guys so just to clarify you use clippers to get it close to the free edge then file the remainder off? Xx

oh and thanks zara for the advise as I have been thinking whether or not I can actually use another file as I have really not taken to the minx file at all so thanks for that I will try with my kanga board also. Xx

to be honest i just used clippers full stop and they stayed on just as well as when i filed the excess off....and looked neater.

I do this sometimes also...especially on the gold and silver, I don't file during prep and just cut them to required length.

I've only just started but finding it much better to just cut it with small nail scissors. It is a much better finish than when I tried with the file.

I pre cut mind with a small pair of scissors and then when fitted i do tidy up witha pair of clippers too.

Not tried the kanga board sounds good though I think I will also give it a try.:)

Thanks for all your help and advise it is much appreciated am going to minx my toes right now and use clippers. Thanks xxxx
