Hi guys
I have a few questions regarding Calgel.
I done my training a few weeks ago and love the stuff I wanted to take it on just for my natural nail overlay clients and the clients that believe nail enhancements ruin your nails!! and so far I've had lots of interest.

My questions are can you use the Brisa lamp with it? if so how long is the timings?

Can you use solar oil too?

And also do you really need to leave it an hour before reapplying an overlay after a soak off? Has anyone applied an overlay after soak off? It's just no other nail system requires you to do this I have soaked off and reapplied acrylic loads of times.

I still love my CND for Acrylic and wish they would bring out a soak off gel!!!

Yes, you can use the Brisa lamp with Calgel but not the other way round ( i.e. Brisa with Calgel lamp). You cure the usual time length - 3 mins for coloured gel and 30 secs for the clear. You must remember though, to not overcure the calgel as the Brisa lamp has a higher uv output.

Yes. You can use solar oil with Calgel.

In regards to your last questions, I'm a little confused actually. I've been using calgel for about 2 years, but I have never heard that you needed to leave the nails for an hour after soak-off and before putting a new set. I have always just soaked off my clients and then put a new set on straight away and have never has any problems. Has something changed since I have had my training...?

Also, just out of interest, why are you promoting Calgel as a product which does not harm the natural nail..? Because if used correctly, all enhancements products should not be harmful to the nail. Would that not be a better way of educating our clients..?

I'm pretty sure we were told that you have to wait 24 hours after soaking off before applying a new set!!!! But I never do, clients just don't want to! I have never had any problems soaking off then reapplying straight away.

I was taught that too. Although I've never followed it! It was recommended that if you don't wait, you have the client place their hand in the UV lamp for a few minutes to help dry the nail out. I don't do either and have never had a problem.

No I wasnt taught either to wait a period of time before reapplying! I am going to call calgel tomorrow to clarify:confused:

Hi Guys
thanks for replying thats exactly what I thought as no other nail system requires you to leave it an hour before reapplying.
In answer to your question flower I am not promoting Calgel as a product which does not harm the nail what I meant was there is a gap in the market when it comes to nail enhancements some people just don't like acrylic they beleive that it damages your nails no matter what they are told so to get these clients to my salon I offer an alternative and when they are my clients I can then educate them.
Thanks again
