In October, I am moving from Quebec/Canada (a French province) to Ontario/Canada (bilingual, but mostly English province).

My current business name is "Ongles Chez Victoria" (which means "Nails at Victoria's").
Already, even in Quebec, the English population has a problem with this name.
So I really MUST change names to one that is English.

However, I've run into the following challenges:
- Ongles Chez Victoria is the only one of it's kind, no other businesses or salons with the same name
- "Victoria's Nails" already exists EVERYWHERE, several times over.
- I tried a play on words/name, but that doesn't work either. "Victorious Nails" also exists already.

AND I wish to keep my "V" logo, that I designed and love. So that said, need a business name with a "V" in it.

So.... any thoughts anyone?

Why do those that speak english have a problem with it?

Why not go with vhunter...for me id know it was you, from reading your posts over the years n knowing your experience too. Xoxo

How about V's Nails? :)

why not do a mix of french and english "Nails chez Victoria"??

Almost everyone in canada knows what the word Chez means whether their french or not. I have friends in Ontario that speak zero french but know the Chez means "at" :p

Victress.......means a woman who is victorious!

Because it's French and many don't know what "Ongles" is (which is nails), and since I'm moving to a province that is more English than it is French....

That's an idea! Not a huge change either, and it's unique. No one else on the web has that.

Never heard of Victress.
Food for thought ;-)

Vixen Nails

Vixen nails exists, as does Victorious.
Victorious Nails is my first choice, but I found it elsewhere googling :-(

Then I thought "The Nail Vixen"

Lots to think on.

THANKS ladies!

I always thought 'Ongles Chez Victoria' sounded classy but appreciate that it would be missed by some people due to the French. Personally, I would keep to a classy sounding name and like the idea of 'Bespoke Nails By Victoria' or 'Victoria's Bespoke Nails.'

What about 'Vitality Nails By Victoria' or 'Victoria's Vitality Nails'? Sounds strong and healthy and vibrant which is what you are trying to promote.

The nail vixen is ace, modern and fresh and keeps your V.

Vibrant or

Vivid nail design?

Nails at Vivacious? X

I like the nail vixen, a strong name x

Yeah, I love Vixen Nails, Victorious Nails, Vivacious Nails
BUT they're all taken several times over.

I love that "Ongles Chez Victoria" is the ONLY "Ongles Chez Victoria" that exists. I want my new biz name to be the same, the ONLY one LOL

Any more thoughts?

There's only one V Hunter! Vivacious, valiant, vibrant and very lovely
I like Va Va Voom nails x
