Hi, I'm going on a weekend sort of introduction to nails (gel) and there's a kit available to buy for £180 + VAT that supposedly has all of the products I'll need to practice. I've looked at a pic of the kit that they emailed me and the bottles say Rebel Rebel so I think that's the make. Has anybody heard of this make and do you think that price sounds right?

I haven't heard of this so I tried searching google and that didn't find anything. Maybe someone else knows about this but I would personally be wary of spending this amount of money unless someone can give you more info on the brand. Would you have a recognised certificate at the end of the training? Which training company is it with?

Cheers

Hi Hazel, thx for the reply. The course is with ETI in Manchester. I believe I will have some sort of certificate at the end of the training. I was told that I'd be able to get insurance and everything upon completion. I booked the course before finding this site otherwise I would have probably gone directly to one of the training providers that ppl on here rave abt (u probably know who I mean lol!). I'm planning on doing this course since I already paid for it and then afterwards if I enjoy it as much as I think I will, I'll pursue further training elsewhere. I just wanted advice from those in the know. The website for where I'm going is quite good and I've been sent course notes and everything well in advance and there are good student comments abt it from those who have already done the course so unless I'm being naive, I think it should be ok. I'll probably hold off on buying the kit for now anyways just to be on the safe side.

I copied this off of their website Nail Technician Course, Nail Courses, Nail Art Training, Nail Technician Training, Acrylic Nail Course

Once you have completed the course your Diploma is recognised by The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists, The International Nail Association and Professional Beauty Direct (Click the More Information button).

Any one of which will be able to provide you with full insurance cover, enabling you to start your own business. If you join the GPBT or INA you will also be able to place letters after your name.

hope this helps x

I have never heard of rebel rebel but i can tell you that they are charging an awful lot of money for it,
creative have the best reputation by far for products and training and their starter kit is not as expensive as the rebel one hth

It also says (scrolling down the page) that the course costs £235 which includes everything you need for the course so why do you need to purchase a further kit for £180??
If they do provide things you need for the course then i would save my money and buy well known brands which i think i will need after i get the cert esp if no ones heard of rebel rebel, it may even contain things you may not need or want to use xxx

Thanks for the advice everyone!

Hi im a newbie on here and was searching about Rebel Rebel, and came accross your post. I am going on this course in Jan with ETI nails, how did u find it??

I would look into Creative training. It's the best you can get and your kit is less than that! Look around - your training is really important.
Creative have a really good customer service and ongoing support reputation.
Does this Rebel Rebel kit include the lamp?

I went on the course and have to say I wouldn't recommend it. Do a search on here for enails (same as ETI). I have since gone on to do training elsewhere and wish I had done so from the beginning. I don't want to badmouth anybody but I would recommend cancelling and using the money towards a more reputable company. HTHs
