Hi my nails are a DISGRACE I soaked off two weeks ago and just haven't had time to do my Xmas set yet I am off today and need to do them as this is my last day off. I am so undecided as to what to have and I think this is because I feel limited as I have done loads of jobs over the weekend and they are well and truly hammered! does anyone have a custom blend recipe for NSI powders I have the range Radiant pink, Sheer Pink, Pink Masque, Radiant White & Clear, I also have the Technicolor range. Pink Masque (in my opinion is - Urgh). Iam waiting for a delivery from NSI with the new coverage powders but this will not be soon enough for me I am open to any suggestion except GO WITHOUT.

This is my Nsi mix for coverage colour...it sounds a bit long winded lol...

You may need to tweak this mix, to get it to suit your skin tone...this mix is EXACTLY the same colour as my nail plate...took me and my daughter ages to get it right lol,
But if you do...and you need help bringing it back to a colour to suit you, just shout and I will help you, x

40 parts pink masque
10 parts white (either soft or radiant, I think i used radiant)
1 part brown (I will tell you the brown I mixed in a sec)
0.1 part red

Now if you do it the same way I did, I Have those measuring spoons for baking, if you have those it will be
1 tsp pink masque
1/4 tsp white
then use your nsi scoop 1 scoop brown,
and just a tiny bit of red...
then added tiny weeny bits more of either the brown or red to warm it up untill it is right.

To mix the brown I did you will need the nsi technail kit (although I THINK they do a brown now don't they ?, I dont have it in my kit)

3 scoops rasberry red
1 scoop galaxy blue
4 scoops lemon yellow
2 scoops snow white
and I added a tiny....and I mean TINY bit of opal shimmer.....
This makes your brown.

This is the mix I used to use, I just copied and pasted my post from another thread....easier than writing it out again lol xx

Thanks you soooo much Em but I dont have those little baking measuring spoons (would a normal medicine spoon be ok??), I do have the NSI scoop that came with the technicolour kit. Sorry to be a pain. Your a darling.

The nsi scoop will be cool, it will take a while to measure 40 though lmao...
Anything you use will be fine as long as you stick to the ratio, so you could instead of using 40 parts - 10 parts....use 4 parts - 1 part....
or 1 whole medicine spoon of pink masque to 1/4 spoon white then add the brown until it has warmed up enough for the colour you want to achieve....

You may find you need to tweak it anyway and add more of something as this mix is to suit my nails but its quite a general colour really...

The custom blending it up tutorial is amazing It helped me lots...
I just used the same colour theory but subsituted it with the nsi colours I had....
With the very first mix I made it had sooooo many colours in, as I also used the colour theory tut to neutralise etc.....then would make it too pale and have to warm it up a bit lol..

Just make sure you write down what you have put in coz if you get the perfect mix, you will be gutted if you can't remember what you used (I learned the hard way lol)

Adding flecks of Technailcolor to Pink Masque can alter the pink. For suggestions, read the "Use Technailcolor for Customization" article in the Tricks of the Trade section of the NSI website: NSI - nail systems international

Thanks for that I have just been practicing on tips and find that the brown leaves darker flecks that don't seem to dissolve with the monomer, I will check it out now.

I found that too....sometimes you can crush it with a pestle and mortar...(sp?)
Or convert to CND and use theirs, :green:
they are fantastic in my opinion, and although the nsi served me well for a time... CND is sooooooooo much better..
smoother application, more realistic looking colours.....Just a total joy to work with hun xxx

Yea I have done the CND conversion course and really liked it, really nice to file and looks good when ever I see what you CND guys produce but just can`t get along with it too many air bubbles can`t quite get the mix right I got quite frustrated in the end and put my CND kit away.
Maybe in the new year when I quieten down a bit I will get it out and try again I could prob do with a one-to-one for a day but will have to see how the money goes next year. I do agree though.
