Hi,

Am looking to further my massage skills as I am particularly interested in the human body and A&P. Can anyone tell me the difference between the remedial and sports massage courses or are they much the same and if not which would you reccomend first?

Thanks!

Hi hun, just in case she doesn't see this thread, if I were you I would pm hippy chick she will be able to sort you out:hug:

seen it!!!!!

Sports is working on pre and post sports, and fixing problems associated with exercise/sports, its quite clinical.

Remedial is a firmer massage aimed at giving you a massage but also looking at helping with injuries, tends to be a deep tissue with possibly trigger point.

They both work on the same format, but sports tends to look at isolated areas and work those and associated areas, wheras remedial gives a more rounded massage.

So, if you were looking at fixing a specific problem go for sports, if you are looking at maintaining your health and sorting out injurires but wish to receive a massage aswell go for remedial.

BTW, I am not really trained in either so am happy to bow down to someone else's interpretation.

I have done deep tissue/trigger point massage though.
