Room rental decision!

Hi Geeks,

So I went to see the room for rent today! Think it has potential and the owner said she wanted between £80 - £100 p/w for 3 days(£150 for a full week but I can only do p/t) or 50/50 on a percentage on the basis I was providing everything! Thought that was too much so tried to negotiate it down, however just had a phone call and she said it would be £30 per day with 1 week in advance. I don't find this a very fair deal to be honest as I could only use the room Thursday evening 4.30 - 8pm, Friday 12.30 - 5pm and Saturday they don't open till 11 and close about 4! I don't think its worth my while? Does anyone think differently?

you need to bear in mind they would struggle to get someone else to get in the room when you are not there.

could u not work on 50/50 til u get busier?

OMG thats far too much surely for the hours!!!
I rent my second room out at £25.00 per day from 8:30 am until 9:00pm or £100. per week but we ask for the month upfront ask her/him to see the contract and see what that says but sounds like a waste of money to me considering the hours you'll need to be there to make it work

That's such a pity, the only way I could see this working is if you can find someone else to rent with you who can do the hours you don't, but if you can't get in to do the hours you wish to then is it worth your while hun?:hug:

If they are charging £30 a day it wouldnt be too bad if you could do 3 full days, could you ask them if you could come in before the shop opened & stayed later & closed up? Obviously this would mean having your own set of keys.
I think by what you said that would work out 13 hours in total for the 3 days, and £30 per day, £90 per week, works out approx £6.92 an hour! Which when you break it down like that (which I guess you have already done) it is a lot of money rent for not a lot of hours.

well when she called back she never mentioned the 50/50 thing at all and said it was £30 per day. I think its too much considering two days il only be getting 3 n a half to 4 n a half hours work on my half days, If i had a quiet day I wouldnt make any money. Not sure about the keys thing but have emailed explaining realisticly I couldnt afford to pay that rent when 2 out of 3 days are half days so not sure if i will get a reply or not.

i dont hink its in a good place in a body piercing and tatoo shop either! try a hairdressers or gym xx

I asked because if its in a fitness centre they never seem to be prepared to negotiate the rent its their way or the highway!!!! lol
