Hiya :)

I got this Rose Water from boots an it has Alcohol denat in it and when it says to jus put it on ur hands an apply to ur face. I used a cotton pad to put mine on an BOY! could u smell the alcohol!
My question is, is puttin alcohol on ur face any good? Cos i thought it would strip ur skin of natural oils?
The Rose Water also has these ingrediants: aqua, parfum, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil and GI 19140.
Is there any ingrediant there that is bad for my skin? As i do suffer with psoriasis on my face too.

Thanks guys xxxx

the rosewater from boots is Ok, but it does have alcohol denat in it. Its still Ok to use but I would n't be using it every day.

Look for rose hydrosol, this is rose water at its best.

Hi,

Never use any product with parfum in the ingredients as it can cause allergic reactions especially to hypersensitive skin. My advice would be to go to your local beauty salon and get a skin analyisis test done and they will be able to provide you with the correct products for your skin type. I hope this helps.

Regards Kate Louise

Ahh right thank you :), Does it cost anything to have a skin analysis?

Each salon will be different - why not call a few places local to you and ask? XX

If you want real rose water you're better off getting it either from an aromatherapy oil supplier or from a pharmacy. A pharmacy may have to order it for you but it will be the proper stuff.

An hydrosol is a water-based replica of the essence of the plant from which it was distilled. It contains all of the healing and aromatic qualities of the plant.

Floral waters are usually made by adding essential oils or flower petals/buds to distilled water and letting them sit over time before straining through a filter. The alcohol added helps the oils to amalgamate into the water & also acts as a preservative. Keep in mind alcohol also kills bacteria (which in toners helps rid the skin of pimple causing bacteria). Toners, and your floral water, should always be followed with a moisturiser - b/c even water can dry out the skin.
I found a rose water recipe for you so you can see how they're made. The good thing about the following recipe is there is not parfum in it. As stated in a previous post "parfum" is an ingredient to avoid.

Rose Water
The alcohol in this formula makes it self-preserving.
Gather:
24 ounces (720g) distilled water
2 cups rose petals
1/2 cup alcohol denat (vodka)

sterilized 48 - 64 oz. clear glass container with tightly fitting lid
Method:
Place flowers in container and cover with alcohol and water. Stir. Place in sunny window and allow to steep for up to two weeks. The alcohol will serve as a preservative. Strain through unbleached coffee filters and keep refrigerated.

Ahh right thank you :), i shall nip into Salons Direct an see what skin stuff they have now that i know what ingrediants im lookin for. Thanks again xx
