Hi all, this site is brilliant, i have learnt so much. but is it possible to do sculpturing on badly bitten nails with no free edge. i have read about extending the nail bed but how do you do this??

Even thow that is a nice tutorial and those powders can really extend the nail beds, those are not badly bitten nails, i think what she meant is if you can sculpt if there is absolutely no free edge were to tuck the nail form.
I do this with gel, i apply the bonding laywer, then the 2nd one and a bit of gel over the skin ( just 1-2mm) then once it gets out of the lamp i use a cuticle pusher to separate the gel from the skin and now i can apply the forms. I don't know if the same can be done with L&P.

aah, yes, i see what you mean. he does use a perfect model in the tutorial doesnt he.

i always sculpt on biters and have good success. similar to you i extend the bed with a coverage product first before fitting a form. i always do it with l/p.
it works fab, and find it a lot less fiddly than trying to fit a tip where theres barely anything for it to go on.

Hi I do the same just put a bit of solar oil round the skin then the acrylic or gel won't stick to the skin. Good Luck :)
