But overall Im not getting them in in the first place!? any ideas how to drum up some business or promo offers? I do have a poster in the window and some leaflets iv handed out.

Hiya ...Its not really a busy time of year right now anyway, but do you have a local rag...?? we have one here that is like a little booklet that advertises all the local trades...its about £60 for 3 ads...(1 per month for 3 months) and it goes to every door in our village....I got lots of clients through that....But most of my clients are word of mouth...so give the clients you do have some cards to give to there work mates, friends.

great idea angie,we have one of them in my village so it might be worth a try.i did advertise in my local shop for a few months but i didnt get anything from that, like you said most are from word of mouth.x

I started advertising in my local magazine that gets delivered to every house, its about £65 for 4 months ,which i thought was very reasonable.

I was not sure at first wether to do it or not, but i have and ive had about 10 new clients in the last 6-8 weeks ,so its definatly worth doing, also as bagpuss said its word of mouth.
