Hi all,

How many of you do Silk Extensions and how many of you do L&P and how many of you offer your clients both systems?

Hope you are all well. Sorry, I haven't been around much lately, but my father is very ill atm and i've also been doing all my assessments at college. Only one more to go (maintenance) and then i've finished. ;)

Geeg .......... i've missed you . Just trying to catch up on what i've missed.

xx

Hi Lou Lou! I'm here !! lol Very sorry to hear that your father is ill and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

These days I only use FG or Silk for the very occasional repair of a natural nail that has broken.

The fact is, that FG or Silk enhancements just do not stand the test of time. VERY old technology .. not colour stable .. and they need replacing more often than any system of enhancement and clients do not request them.

If clients requested FG or silk I would do them but I would point out all the comparisons between FG/silk and other systems; the other systems would win on points hands down.

Hey Geeg

This is why I want to get L&P under my belt. Just one assessment away from qualifying. Hopefully if I pass my last assessment the week after next, I will have finished that course two weeks early . I just want to get on with L&P now, lol.

Do you think L&P is easier or harder to learn than the silk system.

My dad was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and the last five weeks he's declined quite rapidly. I'm the only one left now after both my brother and mom dying so i'm feeling the pressure atm, but i'll be ok, i've gotto be, lol.

Hope you are well Geeg and life is good. I've missed posting on here. I hate missing out on anything, lol. xx

To do L&P well is very challenging .. I think you know that, but it is very very satisfying once you master the skills. You can only try (very hard) and see if you can be the master!! My guess is that if there is something you want to do you will do it.

Hard time for you .. I sympathise ... I hope they can keep your dad as comfortable as he can be. xx

Thanks Geeg.

Well, i'm so strong-willed and because I want it so much, even if I find it difficult, I won't give up. I will always give it 150%, just to prove to myself that it won't get the better of me, lol. I was determined to finish this course ahead of time. I finished my man/ped course four weeks early and if it wasn't for this stupid bank holiday, I would have finished nail tech 3 weeks early. I've only got maintenance to do now so need to wait two weeks before I can do my assessment on my model. Some of the other girls on my course think i'm aloof and abrupt but tbh, I never joined this course to make friends, i've got plenty of those outside college. I was determined to stay focused on the course and that is exactly what i've done. I can't afford to waste time or fail this course.

I wouldn't recommend silk for long extentions as it really doesn't have the strength for that but for shorter, natural looking nails it's ok. I'm an L&P girl all the way and I know you'll be great at it, you're a dedicated lady! Good luck!
