Hi

Can anyone tell me if they repair a nail spilt with silk can you do an overlay in gel?
If so do you still use the resin and activator first and then remove any shine or do you lay the silk on the area to repair and then use the gel over the top as an overlay.

i prep the nail and do my base gel and cure .
then i place silk over the split and add a bit of gel to cover, making sure its penetrated the silk.
cure for a few seconds to stabilise the silk and then proceed with building the nail as normal.

Hi, I have done lots of silk and gel repairs....
I use the sticky silk.. its easier and lasts longer..
cut the silk the size you looking for 2mm bigger on each side of tear. but flush with sidewall.
place directly onto clean dry preped nail.
take minimum gel on brush and push it through silk
cure apply another layer gel cure. then file smooth..
If you apply a clear layer before silk there is a slight weak point and too much flexibility. so silk directly onto nail.
Hope it helps.
