I have a client, who is the daughter of a friend of mine, who is also a client. The daughter comes to me to have French Tips overlaid with acrylic, for special occasions only, because she can't afford to come regularly, as she is on a low wage.
She came to me, all ready to go out for the day, and night with her friends. The next morning, I received a text from her to say "a few of her nails had snapped off". I was surprised, as this had never happened before. I told her to come to me that morning for me to repair them.
Anyway, she text back to say, she had a really bad migraine, and couldn't come to me that morning. I arranged for her to come the next day. She cancelled again, to say she was going out. I arranged for her to come again the day after that. I was concerned that her nails must be looking bad, and wanted to repair them as soon as possible.
After another cancelled appointment, she eventually came to me five days after texting me. Before seeing them, I wondered if I had not built up the apex in the stress area enough, but was sure I did, or maybe I hadn't glued them securely to her nails.
When I saw them I was puzzled to see that they didn't look like they had actually "snapped off", but more like chewed off. There was no clean break, and it seemed to be only the corners of a thumb, and forefinger, and third finger. The tips hadn't come unglued either. She noticed the puzzled look on my face, and said she was surprised when they "just snapped off". I had my suspicions that they were chewed off, but wasn't completely sure. Anyway, I repaired with sculpts, and told her to be very careful with her nails. I didn't want to cause any fuss, as her mum is a good friend of mine. I didn't charge her either.
Is it possible to chew through tips, and acrylic? I use Young Nails tips, which I find are really good quality, and not flimsy like others I have tried.
I always tell my clients to contact me if they get any problems with their enhancements, and will repair them immediately, whether it be mine or the clients fault
