Hiya

There was an article in our local paper today with someone launching mobile spray tanning (not big over here as yet)

However the spray tan in the article states a three stage process including pre-tan treatment, the tan itself and then followed by a post-tan lock treatment which ensures the tan stays for up to two weeks.

Does anyone know what this would be and what this post-tan lock is as I have never heard of it and thought that a tan would only last about 7-10 days dependant on how well it was looked after

Any ideas?

sounds intresting however any spray tan will only last as long as it takes for individuals to naturally shed there dead skin...as we all knows this slightly varies from individual to individual.

"locking" in a tan must mean that the skin is retained on the body longer....it is however likely that through general every day moisturising that the shedding of dead skin may be slightly reduced however only slightly of course...through the use of a moisturiser fortified with DHA will further increase the longevity of a tan..however this is simply topping up new dead skin which itself will shed in time.

Would be interested to learn more about this product though

I believe the company you're talking about is BeauBronz. They have a 3 step system that starts with exfoliation, followed by the spray then a hydrating tanning lock. They do say a tan can last up to 14 days. I have never tried it personally but I did look into it and their solutions are rated highly but are expensive. hth x

interesting! id love to hear from anyone who has tried it.

just looked on their website and they say 9-12 days so good but not quite 2 weeks

You can lengthen any tan for that amount of time with the use of tan extenders. But, you will get dha overload and your skin will look very dry and patchy. I too would be interested if its by using anything else. And yes I have seen their prices!!!!!

Have you seen the tiny thing they are spraying with!!! You could be there all day lol x

considering the skin cell renewal/migration cycle this is very gimmiky to me! 'locking in' the tan has to be nothing more than sales hype. The solution may be excellent, but really we are not all stupid are we!

Top marks!!! so glad u said this. I'm not allowed:)

I've had a BeauBronz spary tan but it was over a year ago, a friend of mine used to have it in her salon.
In my opinion it was no better/worse than others I have tried, expect for the fact that it is much more expensive to buy in, I remember her telling me that any unused solution had to be thrown away and it had quite a short shelf life. I remember she had to buy in vast amount of products, it had many different colour options and all the pre and post treatment things and yes the gun was very very small, you spray in little circles as appose to vertically.
She has now started using LA tanning and is trying to phase out BeauBronz as people were not prepared to pay £30 for a spray tan that looked the same as one that cost £20-£25

i have just looked on their website and i can understand why they were charging so much for a tan - a bottle incl vat is £100 or more!! i was horrfied!!! maybe i am a scrooge but as someone said tan extenders can prolong the life of a tan. i can get 12 days before it starts to look like it needs exfoliating and re-doing!!
