i am wanting to do a 1 day spray tanning course but not booked anything yet.I was looking to maybe buy a machine 1st so i have it ready for me.Can anyone tell me what the essentials are for spray tanning e.g do you only need the machine and a tent to get started?I was looking on ebay and gumtree to try find something a bit cheaper as dont want to pay too much until i get better.Do i have to buy a machine with a certain number on it?Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

You get what you pay for hun. It's not professional to buy things of Ebay and in the long run you are wasting your money as people buy tents from there and then need a new one in a months time.
You will need a machine,tent,solution,barrier cream, disposable hats/thongs, consultation cards,aftercare leaflets,towels,buffing mitt.
The best thing you could do is contact some companies. A lot of them provide training for free if you purchase their kit (everything you need). Sienna -x do a really good offer and are lovely people to talk to and will give you all the right info.

Because there have been so many threads on here stating people have got tents from Ebay only to find after a month or so they wont go down or are standing wonky.
Most of them don't come with a warranty so then you are stuffed. I just would not purchase anything off Ebay for my business. I don't think it's professional but this is just my opinion.

Hi Maria and welcome to SG.
In order to undertake commercial spray tans you will of course need
1) equipment and solution
2) training..preferably accredited...this will enable you to get adequate insurance cover for your business.
Try and go for a company that offers spray tan equipment as well as training as often there is a discount if you take both.
There are many good companies out there ,...if you enter spray tan in the search option top right of this screen you will have access to a multitude of opinions on this subject

You will learn all the essentials you will need on your course so you have the choice to either wait until then or buy now. I would recommend you wait. For tanning you need
A h.v.l.p machine
A tent
Lotion
Sundries i.e couch roll, hats, disposable thongs & bras
I would not suggest for you to buy your machine from eBay as you most probably wont have a warranty on it and if it brakes you don't stand anywhere. But for your tent i suppose its not too bad to buy elsewhere.
Couture tanning have great training, lotion and machines. If you would like more information on their products or training please pm me.

I bought my spray tan booth from ebay!
Got an absolute bargain(to buy it new would have cost me 14k!!!) and when i had it serviced by the people who supply it they said it was in absolute mint condition as it had only done 100 automatic sprays (it does manual sprays too), and they were miffed they hadn't seen it
I also found my supplier of spray solution on ebay.
I've got some really good bargains from there and kitted most of my salon out courtesy of ebay.
I wouldn't buy skincare items from there as i don't know what's in them but a lot of sellers on ebay have guarantees and to say it's not professional to buy from ebay is not really fair.
I get my disposable pants, hats and other bits and bobs from there but that doesn't mean i'm unprofessional
