Hi everyone

Hope you are all having a lovely evening :)

I wanted to ask you all about St Tropez tanning which I am about to use in my new salon.

ive been looking at the sizes of the bottles and believe you can get 120 ml and 240 ml, Does anyone know if they do bigger size bottles anywhere as even a 240 ml does,nt seem big enough?

Another question how many tans could you expect to get from a 240ml bottle?

As summer is coming quick I need to stock up you see and just wanted to know how many bottles of it id have to stock up on?

thanks

hi, im an owner of a st.tropez salon, are you gonna be doing the rub on tanning or spray tanning?
have you opened an account with them as the sizes come much bigger and much cheaper as you are classed as trade! but then this will envolve a minimum order, let me know and i can help with prices x

Hi Lizzie

I am going to start of with the manual tan as I have not yet trained in spray tanning which is something that I am waiting to do this year, but to get me started I was going to the manual tanning for now then combine the two so clients have a choice to choose from.

I would be very gratefull of any advice that you could give me, that would be fantastic if you dont mind would really appreciate it.

id be glad to help in any way but i dont do the manual tan myself, mainly cos its such hard work lol...
they have two different type of account holders and im an airport account.
i do know from retail experience that it envolves exfoliation, moisturising and tanning in a 3 step treatment......if you dont have a st. tropez account then you will have to buy it at retail cost yourself, and wont be able to get any bigger than retail size, you will also not be able to sell after care products or get any promotional things. And i dont think you can offer treatments if you are not an account holder anyway as you wont be covered by insurance if anyone has a reaction.
plus its nice to be able to give out the after care advise sheets and samples etc....dunno if you're near london but their at olympia on wknd 18/5 xxxx

hi kizie

Thankou for the reply

i know what u mean about it being hard work i get a sweat one each time i do it lol

thats why i am seriously considering doing a spray tanning course

do you have a web address or a phone number so i can get in touch with them and have a chat?

hi ya, if you phone 0115 983 6363 thats the uk customer service line, then they usually give you the number for your local rep.....
deffo worth the investment as youll be able to purchase half price on your trade account after that!!!!
make sure you haggle, lol
FYO if you could manage to purchase a second hand spray booth for a fraction of the price (theres lots out there!) they will still open you a spray account with training!
p.s regarding your 1st post trade purchases come in 990 ml and 1 gallon sizes!
xxxx

Hi Lizzie

Thankyou so much for the advice I shall give them a ring next week and hopefully I can get some stock in asap as bookings are starting to come in now.

What I wanted to ask you as well was when you apply the tan.

Do you have to moisturize the whole body then apply step 3?

I am only asking because when I was at college 2yrs ago thats what we did, and Ive not really done a full body tan for quite awhile, and I have recently been told that all they do is moisturize the hairline, elbows, knees, ankels etc so i,m a bit confused now and panicing as I have a full body booked for next week:eek:

If you can help me out on this one id be most gratefull

We were trained to apply the moisturiser to hands, feet, knees and elbows and leave to soak.

When applied to the face you had to blend down the cream and moisturiser so it wasn't stupid dark - also the same for the inside of arms.

You really need to see it in training to get it right. I don't think its much more with the opening order.

I still offer it but its spray tanning that most people want.

Have to say though - the rub in tan actually lasts longer than a spray.

hi ya,
i was trained that pre treatment advise for the sprays is not to moisturise on the day of the tan.

this will also apply to the rub on treatments as it is the same product, moisturiser blocks the pores preventing the tan to take as well.

the reason you should apply it to elbows, knuckles, knees, ankles etc is because it develops much darker to dry areas and the moisturiser will act as a barrier for this.

advise your client to let the tan develop for 24hrs then moisturise daily after this, and exfoliate once or twice in the week to aid even fading of the tan....

hope this helps

i had a bride coming to me for a st tropez tan and although i've done quite a few allready i cant help but feel anxious that her tan comes on ok, as shes never had a St tropez tan before and is keen to know lots about it.
I always worry about applying tan to the face and into the harline especially if bleached hair do you just apply it abit like foundation.
i have been on the tranining course and have the tranining manual at hand so im aware of how many pumps just application tips for the face is really what im after please.
Also the hands and feet im always concerned that they'll stay white and wont tan and you apply moisturizer beforehand to them then blend from the ankles or wrist down but theres hardly any tan i always find its like your blending into nothing really any tips?
thanks
