hi all

i find that if i apply the colour over the white ... the colour doesnt settle for some reason..no matter how long i let the white dry. I have been applying the colour over a base coat then doing 2 coats of white followed by top coat.

IS this wrong? should i be doing it differently?

:confused::confused:

Hi!! I do base coat, pinky base, 1 coat of white then top coat. Seems to be ok ~ maybe the white is a bit thick so takes a bit longer to dry??

It could be the quality of the polish youare using letting you down, OR you are applying the polish too thick so that it streaks, or using too heavy a hand when brushing. All these things cause streaking.

1. You should use a pro brand of polish like CND
2. You should only apply in THIN layers
3. You should only flick the brush over the top ,,, never drag it.

hi all

thanks for the comments. I use Essie products and do not have a problem at all with any other colours...just when i go to do the colour coat over the white tips. Very strange. I am confident at painting and brush technique ... so this streaky problem is beyond me.

:)

Hi there - I know this is obvious but make sure the bottle is shaken well. I have been trying to perfect my french manicure and this was one of the things I noticed! :biggrin:

Do you find it necessary to use 2 coats of white? I haven't tried your brand of enamel but I have only ever used one coat of white, without any problems. Why dont you give it a try and see how you get on?
