Hi Geeks,

Had a brainstorm  Beware

Does anyone who has a home based salon have a sunbed in their for clients to use?

I was thinking of getting one in once my converted garage is completed

xx

From a legal point of view I don't know how this would work with Health and Safety etc, but one minor thing that would concern me is that people like to "pop in" to salons to use sunbeds, and this wouldn't be as convenient if it was in someones home?

I wouldn't want to take the risk to be honest but then I just really hate the things. They are so dangerous to people and I just really think beauty salons should not be providing them. This is just my opinion though.
You can hire them for your salon hun, which could work out better if they supply new tubes. But then you have electric to think about etc. I just don't know if it would be worth it? I would probably be trying to get people off the beds and thinking more along the lines of spray tans, which will earn you much more money xxx

Not something I would do to be honest.
How about spray tanning instead.
Less overheads and more profit and IMO safer.

Yeah i do spray tanning already, which kind of defeats the object as im always banging on about safe tanning. Its just around my area sunbeds are sooo popular its unreal x

Sorry I should have checked first
Just one thing, do you really want to be one of the sunbed clan?
Would you not be better off mega promoting the good side of spray tanning?

Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to put you off (I am ), I just don't like sunbeds after a cpl of bad experiences.

Look into everything first hun, like cost of insurance, health and safety, replacement of tubes. Also how much it is going to cost to run and try and work out what profit you would make. How many sessions it would take you to get your money back (they are not cheap). How likely you think it is that clients are going to come into your home for a sunbed instead of a shop on the high street.
Good luck in what you decide sweet  xxx

Ok maybe i will leave the idea of that then lol Just because its too much to do into and i cant really be bothered thought it might of been simple lol.

I myself dont like sunbeds either xx

Even if it was simple its a route I wouldnt recommed you take, especially if your trying to get your spray tanning off the ground. Not for me either.

Also, not sure if you offer full beauty therapy, (skincare), but it goes against all skincare advice to use a sunbed, lol. Spray tanning is def the way forward, keep plugging away:hug:
