Hi
I got a tantrick spray tan on fri at my training and by monday my colour had totally faded. I then applied the tan in a can on tuesday and i just showered there and my whole tan is now completely gone and I am white as a sheet again apart frm the odd bit on my legs. Anyone know why i have faded so quick and also how long do you and clients keep a good colour for? When i done my sister on friday , she wanted re sprayed a few days later and had to scrub so hard for days to remove the original tan before the new one and it still didnt shift it all. Im confused about where mine has went . Can anyone help?

when you say your colour had totally faded on Monday are you perhaps referring to the disappearance of the initial colour guide?

If your sister is having to "scrub so hard" to remove the tan after only a few days it follows that the solution is working to the areas it is getting to.
This indicates one of two possible problems
1) possibly application...to little and or not covering all areas fully
2) poor pre and post tan regime..make sure you exfoliate and that no moisturiser is applied before the application of the spray tan solution.

Do any of your shower products and products you have been using to moisturise contain any oils ?
oil will strip the colour hth

My initial thought is that there was some sort of barrier on you. Maybe moisturiser or you used a moisturising shower gel before the tan? Did you have a colour after you washed off the colour guide?! xxx

Yes i had a colour after i washed off the colour guide. I showered on sat morning to wash that off and colour was great but by monday it had really faded and by wednesday after shower and light exfoliation it was totally gone. I washed with oil of olay moisturising bodywash with shea butter to be exact lol i used that the night before my tan and then applied johnsons baby lotion but never put anything on on the day. yesterday i used avon shower creme as i thought it could be my bodywash but after that shower it was all gone?

The clue is there in the name oil of olay so this has left a residue of oil on your skin and you applied baby lotion the night before so that was on your skin also,
they would have still been on your skin from the night before even though you didn't apply any more on the day,
when you shower prior to a tan you need you use a gentle shower gel that wont leave anything on the skin (no oils, moisturisers or silicone's)
you skin has to be 100% free from any products or a barrier is created,
then you need to use gentle oil free products after to care for the skin and no exfoliation if you want to keep the colour.

thanks
was a bit confused as the tan did go on and last for a few days then quickly faded. tried reading the ingredients on my bodywash but couldnt see oil. what about the avon one do u think would be oily too? also the johnsons baby lotion is this oily? as i have used this when practicing to put on clients dry areas?
Do you have any reccommendations of shower gels and moisturisers to use? someone reccommended the tan extender from tantrick but if possible would rather not spend much more as spent a small fortune on setting up already. Hope you can help and thanks

The ingredients listing can be very confusing as they don't list things as oil or silicone they use the fancy chemical names,
i use the johnsons lotion in the pink bottle with no problems (after, not before) or the tantrick extender lotion,
and for showering i buy asdas own soap perfume free (cheap as chips) or the kids shower gels with no perfumes or moisturisers,
when i shower i put the gel onto my palms and use my hands to distribute the lather gently then pat dry carefully and moisturise,
i get a good 10 days out of my tantrick tan, hth

what moisturiser do you use the night before the tan? ill maybe try my daughters shampoo for washing then lol and see if that helps. Do you exfoliate at all during the 10 days? i was told on my training to lightly exfoliate after 4-5 days? sorry about all the questions. One more thing, do you find it possible to tan yourself? dont think i trust my boyfriend to do it and dont know any geeks in my area but now that my tan is all gone, i want it back

I don't use any moisturiser the night before my tan usually,
if i do i shower in the morning and make sure my skin is 100% free from any products before the tan,
i only exfoliate when i want rid of the tan,
no its not a good idea to tan yourself you will not it even and will just use lots of solution trying,
set the gun so it is right and try to show your sister how to do it so she can spray you,
most of us have trained up our other half to apply our tans,
i threaten mine with the hot wax if he gets it wrong (hes a quick learner lol)

giggle Louise, Mark just sprayed me, i started him on the lightest solution until he gets the hang of it. Hopefully i will turn out ok :)
