Just curious after doing a lush set of gel nails embedded with opals and gold leaf today. I have a question now I'm sure MUM will probably win this hands down, but to all of you what has been the most expensive set of nails you have done, what material's did you use and if you charged how much were they?and were they for an occasion ?

hiya i do l&p with colours/gems/flowers etc just the basics really.. think the most iv charged is £35 sure others will top that by far lol. i do know of a lady from my college who charges £50ish to do the stilletto nails with 3d sculpting & nail art though!

If I did glitter tip extensions with two colours and nail art, I would charge £60 and that is reasonable for round here!

I don't get the chance to be honest....all my clients are die hard french, or at most a little glitter.

did some a couple of years back for a lady who spent £70 glitter with 3d on all fingers. often do sets for about £50 for people who want 3d stuff for holidays etc. pity prices are so low in my area or i would be worth more

are we gonna see a picture of yours, they do sound delicious !

wow, is there a photo???
I work in the jewellery trade at the moment (only just started training in nails) so the idea of this is what i aspire to do!!!

would love to see them! how much would they cost to have done? you've given me ideas of incorporating small pearls etc now! just need to stop myself trying it out until iv mastered the basics!

Have you seen how much leighton denny charges for his jewel embeded nails,,,,wow lol xx

Best to have a base start price, for a basic full set, then each addition add on a set amount ( here in aust it would be say $5).
So to answer your question I charged a lady $85 the other day.

I know someone else here who charges up to $260.00 and never does infills!

The most that I have ever charged for a set of nails was £85.
Client was going out at new year and wanted them to match her outfit plus some 3d work. My basic cb French is from £55 but as she wanted colours to match her outfit I charged £65 just for the base nail and I charge £5.00 per nail for 3d nail art. Diamontes are £1.00 each.
Have to say that they did look lovely but the pics were never uploaded as my phone broke and had to be sent back because I couldnt upload any pics to the laptop grrrrrrr:mad:

How funny you think I may win this hands down  You're probably right but for different reasons. I have a 'day rate' and get booked to do whatever is needed (could be anything from natural to mad). I very often have to do a 'natural buff' and, if there is a second day (which is quite usual) this would just need a bit of oil and hand cream.

So you could say that these would be the most expensive nails: a very generous fee for a manicure and another generous fee for some 'professional oil application'

But I don't think that's what you mean. Leighton did some nails once using real diamonds but this was for a magazine editorial and not 'real life'. I did a pedicure once using solid silver toe separators that I designed (and they gave to me) for shoot for Tatler.

Hmmm the expensive set that I've done and CHARGED for were ummmm I think 65$ PLUS the $45.00 REAL DIAMOND nail stud.

The most expensive that I have DONE in all this time is probably the set that I did on the weekend for a comp.
I can't get into the details, obviously since submissions are to be blind for the judges.
But, after 4hrs work..... I'd probably price them around $150.00 or MORE...

In future, I plan on creating a web-page targetting brides with much more elaborate work, and services.

At present, learning 3D.

It would have been nice to earn that $150.00 for that set I did.
ESPECIALLY given all the hours put into
1) removal of old set
2) creation of new set (4hrs)
3) prepping model for shoot
4) the actual shoot itself
5) THEN removing them because they were too long for her work the next morning :cry::cry::cry:

It was a VERY long day LOL

It was a VERY long day LOL

Me to Victoria:green:, My model asked me how much that set of nails would have cost her and I advised her about £100 if she was paying for them, she said she wasnt suprised and that she would have been happy to pay for them. Like you I cant post the pictures of these ones yet but watch this space.....
Good luck hunni  from one fellow competitor to the other xxxxx
