I had a l&p overlay put on my nails yesterday and after an hour or so i noticed that my thumb was hurting, like it was being pinched and pulled.
Anyway it got to the point where i had to go out to the car in the bad wind during the night so that i could get a file to get it off! :irked:
It was a tad on the thick side so i filed quite a bit off, anyway it feels better now.

Was it because it was too think or what? That would be terrible for a client to have to put up with!

its possibly that the ratio used was too wet, so causing excessive shrinkage, which causes the pain,
or that because its the thumb, bigger beads were used resulting in more noticable shrinkage,
or had you a sensitive nail plate on that thumb?

its best to get the correct ratio all the time, and not use huge beads to avoid this puling feeling,
it will normally go after 24 hrs, as it just the prouduct curing
