Sounds like an odd (and possibly painful ) question but has anybody used tip cutters on the natural nail before? I have a client who has VERY long and VERY strong natural nails (free edge about 2cm) and she always wants me to cut them down prior to her manicure. Don't blame her - why do it yourself if you're paying for a manicure anyway!

I have always carefully filed her nails down but this does take quite a long time - they feel too strong for scissors so I wondered if tip cutters were a complete no no?

Thanks - Lindsay :)

Imo nail clippers would be the best idea, clip one side slightly then the other rather than putting undue stress on the nail by doing it in one go iykwim. Hth's

I quite agree Becki.

Use the right tools for the job. Nail Clippers.

Tip cutters are for soft plastic tips not hard keratin nail plate.

Thanks to you both for prompt replies. I will NOT use my tip cutters (nor ask anymore dumb questions...lol) :) x

It's better to ask and prevent than not ask and cause possible damage hun :D

Ditto Becki, also anyone else who might have thought about it will see and know. In my opinion the only dumb questions are the one that dont get asked.

I asked the same question once...wouldnt know the answer unless I asked, thats why this site is the best...who would I have asked...??
