Hi

I have found a room to rent for £40 a day in a small Nail salon, this includes all bills.

The lady also said I can have access to there client records?

Is this aloud as I thought this would be confidential?

Does £40 sound resonable also?

I would appreciate any advice as this is my first time at renting.

Big thank you :D

£40 a day is steep,if you work a week thats £200 a week, which is expensive imo,a couple of days a weeks wouldn't be so bad but a week would be pricey.Would you have any clients to take with you or would you be starting from scratch? If you have clients it wouldn't be so bad but I would def shop around for a cheaper deal.

If you are working there then it wouldn't be deemed as confidential to view the record cards, after all when new therapists join a new salon they need to view the record cards in order to carry out a consultation and view contra-indications etc of the exisiting client.HTH

Hi it is for one day a week. I will be doing beauty treatments and they do nails in another room.

I thought it seemed ok, as it is a very busy salon?

40 quid for a day in a busy est. salon is fine. You would probably get it cheaper if you were renting it exclusively, but if just one day a week suits you, then great.

I think it depends on your area. I have the choice of 2 rooms for daily rental. One is smaller at £25 and the bigger one at £30.

I know another place not too far from me that is £200 a week. Very busy nail salon and the beauty therapist is always busy.

I have just been to see the room and it was awful, I walked in through the door and was waiting to be shown the room but that was it a 4ft by 4ft room, it was damp and dirty and very dissapointing. How you could do any treatments there I dont know :O( back to the search.

Just not sure where to start?

That's a shame. Post on here under recruitment. You could also try Gumtree. Good luck.

Oh what a shame.Yes post on Gumtree I got a couple of replies when I advertised on there.

I'm glad you didn't go with that place.

I was just going to weigh in saying that I'm fairly certain it is illegal for the owner to share client records with you. Since you're renting, you are a tenant/contractor and therefore not an employee. That would be like her showing the electrician her client records. When people are renting a bunch of rooms, everything is seperate. You have your clients, and they have theirs.

At least that's how it is in Canada. And my mother is head of security for a government body so I would know =D
