Top Coat

Hello just wanted to ask a question about top coat I know it is used for sealing the varnish or nail art ect ect but if you make a mistake with your varnish does it help to hide mistakes just wandered what other reasons you would use top coat.

a topcoat of polish wouldnt cover up any mistakes you have made as they are usually clear.
my topcoat that i use has a slight violet colour to it so it makes my whites whiter my pinks pinker and helps prevent yellowing as it contains uv block whilst making the nail nice and shiney.x
