I had a sales rep round last week from a company called Anthony Braden which is predominantly a make-up supplier. I'd never used them before but they offered me some crystal nail files to retail in my salon.

The files come in a little red carry case which is small enough to fit into a handbag and they come with a choice of red rubies or snow flakes on the handle, which is very Christmassy.

If you buy six you can get a little display unit to put them in to help promote them wherever you decide to display them in your salon. On the display unit they are also advertised as reduced from £19.90 to £14.90, save £5 etc.. which is good marketing. The rep that visited me also promised to buy any unsold stock back off me which seemed to be more than fair.

The display unit of six arrived at lunchtime on Thursday, 24 hrs after I ordered them. In the three and a half days I have been open since they arrived I have so far sold 7 of them, having already had to re-order them in bigger quantities. I haven't sold them very long but the ones with the red rubies so far have outsold the ones with snowflakes on. Clients seem to like them for themselves or for Christmas presents for friends and family.

I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing what others have lined up for Christmas too.

That sounds like a great selling point i have lots of retail items but not many are christmasy as you only have ashort time to sell them in i makes sence to have items you could sell all year,

Think I misunderstood this thread.

Did you mean top buys for yourself in your salon at XMAS or top buys to retail in your salon at XMAS, or something else?

I sell stock all year in my salon and my best seller is my Jessica products. They fly off the shelves!

Every year, I like to get a bit of retail stock in aimed at the Christmas market but its best to be prudent and not overstock on it, as you don't want to be lumbered with it come January.

I meant either really one goes with the other i believe if you love it others will too best way to market sometimes
