Hi Geeks,
Im currently working in a nail salon at the mo, have been there 2 years now, but about 10 months ago it was taken over by a new lady that dosent do nails, dosent want to do nails, isnt particularly interested in nails, sits and reads her paper or chats on the phone eating all day.
I really enjoy doing nails and like my clients but im recently really wanting to leave, she is seriously bitchy about staff and clients and it makes me wonder what she actually says about me behind my back.
I have been recently ill and ive been told that shes been telling clients ive let her down when ive generally been ill.
Ive had enough but cant find another job, im even thinking of doing something different just to get away but really want to stick with doing nails!
Anyone know if theres any job vacancies in Bristol for a usually happy, jolly, fun loving nail tech???

I know theres self employed positions but dont know if im brave enough to take that step yet. plz help!

Thanks Tasha.xxx:cry:

Hi ,

There is nothing worse than being in an environment where you are unhappy, it is not healthy.

I wish you all the best. Keep your chin up, when one door closes, another will open.

:):):):):):):)

aw you poor thing its awfull when you are not happy at work because we spend most of our day there, would it be possible to talk to her about the way she is making you feel? if she is not approachable i would try my best to find a new job but it would be a shame if you had to do that, but its not worth being miserable over, and please dont give up doing nails because of your boss!! xx joanne

Hmm! if you set up at home you'll have to advertise for new clients, You have to be certain you'll like your new position and colleagues if you move so really room renting maybe the best thing for you. If you save up and make sure you have enough money to advertise a picture of your self in the local paper for a couple of weeks you should be grand. Be careful tho that you do not tell your clients that you intend to leave - or where you are going.
Doesnt sound like a pleasant place to work really

Thanks guys, I think im going to save up and just keep looking, I really fancy going selfemployed but need to do a business plan but also very difficult making decisions at hard times!
Going pro beauty this wkend so that'll cheer me up!!!

Just a few qustions for you?

Do you have some where nice and private that you can do your clients nails?.

Also do you have a regular client base?.. would there be enough for you to start your own busines at home..

I would do that too.... save up and set up at home... advertise your photo.. not just your name in teh local papers.... it doesnt take long for word to get around.. you just have to double check on the laws about how far apart you live from the old business... in australia you are not able to set up a new business witin 5kms of where you used to work..
Other than those problems... GO FOR IT... there is nothing worse.. or worth.. working for someone that you cant stand... and it seems it is not just her personality.. it is her professionalism.. as well
X Mel
