Hi Geeks

Well, I have to admit I'm a lazy waxer (yes, i said waxer!! lol) and now wouldn't part with my roller set, but I'm really not finding it cost effective, in that there is always a load of wax left in the cartridge which then gets wasted.

Any ideas on how I can buy the plastic tubs of wax (like the one's in Sally's) and then decant it into the cartridge without making an almighty mess?

Thank you

This is not a bad idea hun. Why not try a funnel. Not sure if it will work how i think it will and you would probably need to clean the funnel everytime to prevent the wax from building up in the hole. It might be an idea to heat the wax in the pot first then pour it in?

been there done that, it was a total nightmare!!!

the only thing i do now is, if i have say an inch of wax left in one cartridge, i will sit it on top of another so the wax drips into one cartridge.

but other than that its just too much of a mare to bother!!

if you do the maths, each cartridge is 85g and work out at about £1.10 each, a pot of wax is 450g and say on average £4.50. so you would get 5 cartridges out of one pot. Theres not really alot of difference to be honest. and for the time and mess it takes to re fill cartridges its really not worth it.

the reason i refilled the cartridges was because i wanted the normal wax i use, but in a roller rather than the cost. but i soon gave up on that idea after getting in a RIGHT mess lol.

I use hive cartridges now, i buy them in a box of 32, which is more cost effective.

Hi Kate,
I use the hive wax, so not sure if this would work with other systems, but works for me.

When I am at bottom of cartridge, I heat it up to max in heater and then (carefully) rest one cartridge on top of the other so that the very runny very hot wax simple runs into the lower cartridge. I usually wait until I have several "empty" cartridges and usually find there is enough to fill another cartridge.

hope this helps

This is what i do too!!
I have my heaters on 6 which is max anyway!!
I find any lower than this and the wax isnt hot enough to use.

(I have found that the inner cardboard tube from a bed roll 'houses' the cartridges nicely when you are empying them into another. slot them inside and it holds them together!!!)
