I am currently trainging on an nvq level 2 course and i wanted to buy a wax starter kit. I know alot of people recommend the hive wax starter kits but i have found a pro wax starter kit and a wax a way starter kit that i like and at a good price. Has any one any idea's on which is better and also whether to get 1000cc or 500cc?

Thankyou for any help x :)

Hi,

Not sure about the Pro-wax but with regards to the Hive....

I am a new therapist and I bought the 1000cc Link kit from Hive. I really now wish I had bought the 500cc.

With the 500cc you can put the individual plastic pots of wax that you buy directly into the heater. This means you can pop different waxes in and out.

With the 1000cc you have to take the wax out of the pot, into the metal bucket supplied with the heater. This means if you use more than one type of wax you will need to buy extra buckets. It was abit of a nightmare transferring the wax...my tub of hot wax was ROCK solid and I had to melt it slowly in a pan of water until it was runny enough to decant.

Having said that, the 1000cc is much bigger and will suit someone doing lots of waxing; for me, I could have managed with the 500cc and my Hive roller machine.

To start out, just buy a cheap heater. I like the 1000cc, but if you are mobile, then a 500cc is best for you.

Hive Heaters: I'm pretty sure that my 1000cc Hive is fine to put cans straight in. You just take the bucket out and replace it with a can. xxx
