Hi

I have just done a leg wax on a client, and unfortuanetly she ended up in a bit of a mess. I use the warm wax roller system and can't decide what went wrong. It seems as if not all the wax was coming off when using the strip, therefore she ended up getting the tissue stuck to her and we had to go over her legs with surgical spirit before she left to get all the remaining wax off. I work from home and am abroad, the room i'm in gets very hot as i've not installed air con yet. Do you think this may have had some affect on the wax applied to the leg, as i made sure that i plugged the roller back in when i wasn't using it, to keep it's temperature. Or do you think it's something i'm doing? I have been using linen strips rather than paper, maybe this is it? I feel really rubbish now and frustrated, she seemed ok about it all, but you never know do you!

Your thoughts would be much appreciated

Thanks

Hi, don't panic...it doesn't sound to me like it was you!!

I've had wax before that was from a faulty batch, and I had the exact problem you've described. I rolled the wax on, and it stuck to the client's leg, but not to the strip!!

I'd call the company you bought the wax from and see if they know of a problem. They may send you some more FOC, it's worth asking.

The only other reason I could see would be if there was oil about the place...either on the client's skin, on your hands, on the strips etc....that might prevent the wax from sticking.

Did this lady have any dry patches on her legs. I have had clients, over the years, whose legs have been quite dry in places and this sometimes happens with them.

Just put it down to experience and don't let it get you down. I can't think of anything that you have done wrong! :) xx

i have had this problem also, with my roller wax....sometimes leaving a little of the paper strip, it was suggested that the wax was perhaps not hot enough, its one idea.....x also that the wax was thick with being repeatedly reheated x

Hi, you could try using a little bit of oil/baby powder before using the wax. Try not to worry about it.

Did you press down the whole strip with the palm of your hand?
The main reason that wax is left on the skin is because people just rub over the strip with a couple of fingers instead of making sure the whole strip is covered.
Give a couple of firm rubs with the palm of your hand before removing :)

If it was really hot in your room, maybe your client was sweating and this is why the strip wasn't sticking to the wax and pullng the hairs out.

I have a male client who has his back etc waxed and he really sweats during. I have to keep patting his back with couch roll to dry it and then quickly apply the wax. Really press the strip down hard and RIP !!!!!!

What happens is the sweat stops the wax from sticking properly. HTH's xx

Cheers ladies. I thought it may have been to do with the heat as it never happened in the UK. Off to buy air con tomorrow then!!

I feel better now

Wax on!

x
