Hi there....well I agree about the skull...I don't like that bit but personally I think a black background can look bloody good...especially with some splashes of colour about...I may use a black background on my own site....Im not trying to market myself as tranquil & soothing and I dont think we all want to or need to market ourselves like that either....jmo.
Looking at your site id suggest losing skeletor...maybe use a smaller font size on the home page (just a tad)....I would use capitals for Beauty Therapist...you should always write small numbers as words and not figures iykwim...
'' Hello and welcome to my website, my name is Charlie and I have been a Beauty Therapist for four years now.
I have worked in many different places varying from large Spas such as Stobo Castle and The Old Course Hotel, to small salons around England and Scotland.
I provide mobile services in and around the Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy area. I offer a range of sevices from Nail Enhancements to Spray Tans, and can cater for all your waxing needs aswell as providing you with relaxing treatments such as massage and facials.
I will bring everything I need to preform the treatments you require... all you will need to provide is water and electricity is necessary. ''
On your facials page...I think there is too much information....although Im sure it's all very interesting...I couldn't be bothered to read it all (maybe thats just me!) perhaps you could condense it all down for an easier read?
Also you have the same info on the facials education page as you do on the facial page.
Also, try and have a week off every six weeks to allow nails to recover and breathe after wearing nail varnish. this is incorrect information....your nails do not need to breathe....advise your clients to always use a good base coat and to use oil....such as solar oil.
Try and keep them short and square shaped rather than rounded. This provides 'touch' strength. Brittle nails are easier to trim once they have had a good soak in the bath with oil added to the water. Apply oil or moisturiser after the soak. Im not so sure about this information perhaps someone will see this and clarify.....rounded shaped nails give the best strength.....water dehydrates nails stripping away oils....soaking in water or in water with oil added would be of no benefit im sure.....just trim and oil!
Avoid using nail varnish remover that contains acetone as it is very drying to the nails. Use a nail hardener to give them a chance to grow and repair any tears with nail glue. Prolong the life of your nail varnish by touching up instead of removing and repainting. This allows the nails a chance to gain strength. I would not advise my client to patch themselves up with nail adhesive myself....your client may be trapping bacteria beneath the adhesive without realising, and subsequently might end up with an infection. (note also...it is correct to say adhesive rather than glue).
Try not to give specific information as general information iykwim....not everybody needs to use nail hardener and even then it shouldnt be used all the time for long periods as it will then start causing problems....there is general information that can be used by everyone....use oil, handcream, wear gloves etc etc....and maybe you could include some interesting facts...such as.....what rate nails grow at....how is growth influenced..age? weather? gender? etc
Cod liver oil as a dietary supplement can be good for nails, as it is for joints - keeps nails flexible and prevents brittleness. Its probably quite true....but says who???...is this your opinion or fact??
There are a few spelling mistakes and the wording could be better in some places but all in all I think you've done really well so far...loads of info there just needs tweaking a little! Pictures would be great and you must make sure you use correct information xx hth xx
