I've been with 1and1.co.uk now for over a year for my website and am happy with it.

Yesterday I started a freewebs site to advertise the training as I wanted to keep the sites separate due to bulk of reading to do.

But, would like to link the 2 together.

I know how to do simply links and have them in place already.

My question is:

on my menu, I would like to click TRAINING button and instead of being taken to the page in my 1and1 I would like it to go straight to the freewebs training one. So my menu button is the link iykwim.

Anyone know how to do that?

You need to create it as a hyperlink to another website rather than to a page in your website so instead of your link being index . htm for example it will be http:// training . co.uk or whatever it is called.

Hope that helps.

Alternatively you could have registered another domain name on your 1&1 account depending on what type of account you have - if that makes sense.

Can't really add any more than what naturalnails has already said - yep you would need the full URL of the site, e.g. http://mysite.freewebs.com/training.html when you put the link in from your existing site... please feel free to pm me if you are having trouble with this though :)

This is exactly what I was going to ask. Brilliant. Thanks guys. xxx

don't think my account will allow me to do hyperlinks, but will try. think I am expected to upgrade to do stuff like that.

will report back, and thanks for 'getting' my meaning.

If you have access to edit the HTML page direct, you create a new hyperlink as such:

Code:
<a href="http://www.theothersite.com/training/index.html" target="_blank">Training</a>

Use the 'target="_blank"' bit to open a new page whilst keeping your site open in the background.
