What are the effects of massage on the nail? help needed please.

One of my questions in my nail course assignment asks me;
Explain the effects of massage on the nail.
So apart from the obvious, cucticle condition what else is there? Does it improve the growth rate?
Have tried doing a search on the site but as usual i seem to be rubbish at finding things :lol:

it increases blood circulation, which i think can help the nail to grow faster.

It increases blood flow to the matrix,therefore providing oxygen and nutrients to the area which will inturn help nail growth.
