Hi,

Hoping someone can help, i have been trained in eyelash perming and have done six people however when i remove the cling film it pulls off the eyelashes, i can kind of manage to put them back in place with the cling film but they dont stick once they've been pulled off. I have bought four different kinds of cling film now from different stores and all seem too sticky. Pls advise what cling film you use?

Many thanks

I have no idea ... but in the Kitchen once you've tried Lakeland Clingfilm and Foil you won't go back! Well at least, i've not. :)

I just use any own brand clingfilm.

I don't press it down onto the eyes, i just lightly lay it over them. I then put a very small, light wheatbag designed for the eyes over the top. The lashes never stick to the clingfilm.

Could be the glue rather than the clingfilm.

Hi
I tend to make a dome out of it by putting some over the base of a bottle try and size the bottle base to the size you will need, put the film over the base, wrap it all around the bottle then press it into the sides of bottle and start rolling it up so it is the length you will need, not to tall otherwise it will fall off, take it off bottle where you have rolled it this should act as a weight which will hold them in place. This sounds very complex when I just read it back to myself but really it's just a easy way of making a dome that has abit of weight to it, hope this helps x

Sorry if I'm completely out of touch but I have been eyelash perming for 8 years and was never shown to use clingfilm!

Never had any problems but I like to keep up to date with new methods so what is the benefit/purpose of clingfilm?

Thanks everyone.

Well on my training i was taught the cling film was to hold the stray little lashes that dont stick firstly to the roller. However reading a few threads on here others are taught its to keep heat in, so not too sure now! Will phone my trainer i think.

You can get the film from any beauty wholesaler or show. But I was taught with it and I just gently put a tea towel or hand towel over not touching the eyes.

Basically it helps to develope the perm better and keeps the heat in thats the only reason.

I was learnt to use any cling film, the purpose being that it heats up and keeps in place.
It can stick sometimes due to the adhesive on the perming rods but I just pull it away very gently, so the rods don't move.
Is it the actual lashes that are sticking or do you think it could be the rods?

When I did my training I was taught to use cling film however the brand I use doesn't specify using cling film so I didn't use it.I think it's very important to stress making sure therapists follow manufacturers instructions because a lot dont use cling film(mine included)

My trainer had everyday clingfilm made into a thick square, several layers compressed together, with this she gently placed over the eyes,no pressure was really used, then she placed a small folded hand towel.

Personally I think it's harder to see if lashes have come unstuck from the roller, but if it's needed then I guess you just have to get used to it or change supplier.HTH
