Sounds as if you aren't letting your nail art dry thoroughly. I don't know what kind of paint you are using, that may add to the problem, but make sure the paint is dry before topcoating. I usually look for the art to become dull. Then, when topcoating, dip your brush into the clear, brush off one side of the brush, and place the brush gently on the nail on the side with the clear dollop of polish. Be very careful not to press the clear into the nail as that will sometimes cause the art to drag. Light, quick movements is what you are looking for when sealing up nail art. Good Luck!

i seal all mine with lechat protech .
its a u.v topcoat gel , and it doesnt have the same kind of solvents present as regular topcoat does so it doesnt effect the art.
only suitable for enhancements though, not on natural nails.

I also use lachat and seal under a uv light

What type of paint are you using to do your nail art?
If you are using paint which is more like nail polish that's probably why you are having problems, you must leave each coat to dry, it takes bloomin ages!!

Get down to your local art shop and buy yourself some acrylic paints, they sell them in bottles of about 2oomls and they cost about £1 each, loads of colours and things. Get fine brushes from there too.
Then, when you do your nail art it dries really quick & apply your topcoat -I use CND Super Shiney or INM Out the Door Holographic glitter.
You must seal the acrylic paint or it will wash off.
It's so much easier to use too. You can still paint the nails with a normal nail polish, allow to dry then use you acrylic paints on top for art, or use the paints entirley.

Hey I had the same trouble... even with the proper nail art pens etc.... I asked for help on here too and the girls told me to try the arylics artist paints.. WOW they dry nice and chalky and then when you top coat them or apply clear gel ( enhancements) they are super shiny and look great... try it you wont go back... I am dreaming of nail art now!
