how do you make your mind up what you are going to do on a client ???

i have clients who come in and haven't got a clue if they want their nails extending, nnos, gel colour, French, nail art etc, what questions do you ask to get an idea what to do ??? also they all seem really shocked when i say that a full set of extensions could take up to a couple of hours to do it make me feel like a right slow coach !

(also i am struggling to know when to use tips or when to sculpt, v.expensive with my gel !!!):eek::eek:

Hi ya

I tend to just explain all the options : ie if they have naturally long nails i advise a nno with a choice of natural, french or polished (gel or varnish) and if they are short either a nno or tips. I don't sculpt as yet, but i guess it would depend on what you are most comfortable with or if the client is dead set against one or tuther. Hope that helps a little! x

I just ask if they want rockstar, pink & whites, natural, polished, but they usually know what they are getting. They just have a hard time deciding what color of glitter to get since I have 50+ colors. Don't worry about your time, I also take about 1.5-2 hours, but they understand this because the enhancements are sculptured. I explain to them that anybody can do nails fast if they don't care for the clients safety and overall quality. Just remind them that you take your time so their nails can look their best.

I ask about their lifestyle with regards to length, I like to sculpt but do tip where it is more appropriate, I always suggest NNOs if they have any length,I ask if they want to wear polish, have pink and whites, or glitter tips.

Most can decide based on that, the rest tend to say er um just like yours (custom blend Brisa with soft white or glitter tips)

Sorry newbie alert and a thread hijack! NNO = natural nail overlay????? guessing. Is that an acrylic or gel over a natural nail?

Correct natural nail overlay, can be L&P (liquid and powder) or gel

I offer them all options and also have a selection of coloured / glitter tips ready made to show them....

Forgot to mention i always offer my advice on what will suit them, colour, shape, length.. but its their choice in the end.
