what sections for hilites best

I always seem to section into 9 when hi-lighting. But am wondering what other geeks always do. Do you do the same method or change it for every client?

When doing say 2 or 3 colours I dont want them looking stripey, so weave those finer. But find it difficult to work out which direction to go on the top if a client has a parting in the middle or off to one side.

i always make sure the parting section has its own 'box ' about 1 and a half inches each side and do these forward , if is a a far side and te edge of the box is in the middle , i do another section to match on the other side of the parting .
Ive just started more to do fine slices diagonal on a horseshoe section which looks great on short hair if quite a bit of natural is left out
