I qualified in Bio sculpture gel in September and havent done a single set since:cry: I am going to try to get family and friends to have them done before I let my self loose on the public so I can get some experience. I am going to get some cards made just to make it look a bit more profesional than just word of mouth. Just wondering if anyone had any advice on what phrase I could put on it to make them aware that the prices are cheap because I am still learning. I'm obviously going to put that I am newly qualified but how do I explain the prices? Any help appreciated please. Just need a simple sentence as there isnt much room on the card lol !!

I put 'newly qualified' on mine and didn't gety a single call. I suppose to some people 'newly qualified' = rubbish.
I'm going to try again with 'models needed for reduced price nail enhancements', or 'introductory offer' or something like that. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Personaly i think when you advertising if you put newly qualified it puts people off!! Also i have said this in another thread recently it gives clients the chance to take advantage of you they think cause your new they can take the pee!!

Why dont you advertise for models?? You could put something along the lines of

Models required
For limited period of time to refine my techniques

I would just put "Models Required - Please contact for more information". That way you can explain it to them on the phone and at least you'll have that initial contact.

For myself, I think if someone were to put they were new or needing practice, it would turn me off and I wouldn't call in the first place. But, if you got them on the phone, told them how great you were even though you were new, maybe they'd be up for it.

It's tough starting out but trust me, it's so worth it. Talk to others who are close to you and let them know you really need the practice. Bio is a soak off so if they're really not happy, just remove them. But, at least you got the practice!

I to wouldn't say newly qualified,
How about Nail stylist requires models for new product line.
Limited appointments available.

You've not lied, its a new product line for you and that way if you are working around an existing job, rather then getting into the ins and outs of your other job, you just consult your diary and tell them what spaces you have. I.e the times you are free from your day job.
Defiantly think its a good idea to practice on family and friends, this will help you define how long a set takes you to do and gives you the chance to make sure everyone wearing your nails gives out your cards.
Good luck hun:hug:

thanks everyone for your comments, i'll scrap the newly qualified idea then lol!! I think asking them to call for further info is a good idea so that I can explain. TBH I dont think i would have wanted to book into see someone who is newly qualified if I didnt know anything about beauty so models required is a good calling point. Thank you very much everyone. Just got to figure out how much to charge and have a look round the area who's doing BIO. X X
