My comments are concerning shape and design as well as apex placement.

It is my opinion that this shape and design does not suit either the length or form of the natural nails or hands so I have rated these fairly low.

The zone 2 area is also heavy with too much product.

The overall look is stumpy and heavy. Short nails do not have to look stumpy ... they can look in proportion and help to make the overall hands look prettier than has been achieved here. If a person has short broad fingers, then short broad nails do not enhance the overall look. Everything has to be taken onto consideration when designing the right nails for each individual.

I would love to see these nails with longer nail beds, and a more oval nail shape; I think it would transform these hands.

Oh Gigi i am so gutted but i know you know your stuff so i will take on board what you have said, although i have to be honest my eye would never have looked at my nails and said this is what i need to do to enhance them, i just applied what i liked and i suppose its not all about that.

I think i am way out of my depth on nails another load of classes i think need booked.

You mustn't be gutted ... you just need to learn what to do to make a positive CHANGE for a client and who better to practice on than yourself?? Right? The nails you made were not horrible at all ... just not right for your nails IMO to give you the best and prettiest look.

Think of something like eyelash or brow enhancement ! Would you do the same lashes or the same shaped brows on every client?? It would look SO wrong. Same for nails. Hands and nails are an individual thing and not just banging out 'cookie cutter' nails that always look the same on each individual.

I'd love to get hold of your nails and transform them. Be bold and experimental on yourself and it will help you to see what design would enhance the look of your hands rather than just put nails on them.

I don't think you are out of your depth nor do you need to feel that way ... no one knows it all to start with and it takes time to develop you 'eye' to know what to do. CND do teach nail design in one of their their Master Classes ... maybe think about that one day.

I think you could charge for these yes... in answer to your question...

but I also learnt something myself to be honest...because I think they looked pretty good from the photo ( still do ) but I get where Gigi is coming from and yes they would look better with an oval shape and extended nail beds...

it's trial and error anyway and the best person to do that on is yourself...maybe try doing the one nail oval and extended next to a nail you normally do and see the difference side by side....

and well done for using white tips...can I get to grips with white tips????? They hate me for some reason...I just cannot for the love of God work with white tips...I suddenly become Coco the Clown when applying them...:irked:

Xxxx
