Hi everyone

hope this is in the right section. wer trying for a baby and just wanted some advise on working.
i currently work full time in an office and do nails, tans and hair extensions of an evening mobile.
just wondering when i should stop when i do get pregnant, i dont think the nails will be too much of a problem as the case isnt too heavy and ill be just sitting down. but i couldnt stand for 5 hours doing hair extensions i dont think, my back kills as it is when i do them now haha and with the tanning its alot to carry an theres setting it up and the spraying?

Hi,
Congrats on your pregnancy! Im currently 15wks preggers and also mobile with a full time job. At the mo it is a stuggle as im a lot more tireder etc in the eve but ploughing through trying to build a client base to help my finacially.
I would cont with what you manage but dont be afraid to ask for help lifting things in and out of car.
Take Care x

I did do mobile while I was pregnant but stopped as I turned a room in my house into a salon. It is not really something that you can put a time on as everyone is different. I was carrying my bed about and after going to 1 client in the city centre and not getting parked near the house and having to carry the bed for about 5 minutes solid I gave up on the mobile.

Just see how your body goes with it all. If your tanning a regular only take what you really need 1 hat 1 pants etc! You might have no issue working right up until you have the baby or you might find after 6 months you have had enough.

Good luck when it happens.

Hi ya
I started a home based salon in September and we are trying for a baby too,,,, we are having IVF as my lovely other half has two kids and had the snip over ten years ago so our best bet is the IVF route,,,,, I often think about what will happen but I'm just going to take it as it comes,,,,, I have a hospital appointment this week so I'll no more about the harvesting of my eggs etc and I'm hoping to still carry on working as much as I can whilst it all happens,,,
My sister is a hairdresser and she had to take early maturity leave 21 weeks because of her back and found it too hard,,, and a friend of mine is a beauty therapist who works mobile and she worked right up until the birth and after the birth for the first 6 weeks if clients wanted appionts then they had to go to her,,, her little one is 4 months more and she takes him with her and that works for her and her clients.
I think everyone is different and yu'll just have to see how you find being pregnant.
I know how you feel about wondering what you do,,, I don't what to build my business up and then drop the bombshell but I'm going to try aand work right up until the birth and what with working from home I can go back hopefully straight away lol,,,, the other half thinks I'll change my mind and have the baby and give up work, I don't think that will happen lol.
Good luck and have fun trying lol

i think it depends on each individual. im 29 weeks pregnant and although im only at college, it is still 4 days 9-4 constantly on my feet working on clients and carrying my big trolley about as well as 1 evening a week doing nails AND doing shifts with my job as an event steward which is all standing - but i still feel fit to do everything! and ive actually booked to do another evening course starting 4 weeks before im due lol!

Everyone is different, every pregnancy is different.

I did mobile with my first pregnancy, it was high risk, it was a bit of challenge. I carried on till the 8th month.

This time, I had morning sickness from the beginning and terrible pain in my abdomen and back, there was no doing it.

Good luck on getting pregnant, I hear drinking red raspberry leaf tea can help with conception, just don't drink it after getting pregnant :)

Have fun trying :)

well done a test this morning and it says positive. getting another one 2nite to double check

you know the way you cant spray tan anyone in their 1st trimester, does that go for me actually spray tanning anyone in my 1st trimester or will it not affect me?

Sorry I haven a clue. 1st one

I had and gave spray tans in first trimester but wore a mask.

x

There is really no issue with tanning in first trimester it is more to do with hormones and the tan not taking properly. If your worried (which you don't have to be) you could use a mask.

And congratulations.
xx

I spray with a mask anyway otherwise i get really brown snotty nose bogeys and its annoying! I also tell my clients to clean their nose after as well. I have just been reading this as we are trying and i do mobile eyelash extensions. am getting a lightweight couch for xmas - ahhhh x cant wait!

I worked right up untill 38 weeks and went back after 2, not ideal for everyone but worked hard for my clients i wasnt going to let them go!

I would just say listen to your body it will tell you when you've had
enough.
I mainly do lashes and hair extensions and found this ok my clients did help me with bed in and out of car etc.

Good luck and congrats x
