I'm so excited - yesterday I sent out my first batch of advertising thru the postal service. 1,200 flyers got sent out (I live in a small town, lmao). I still have another 3,900 to send out which will cover a 25km radius. LOL! Pretty sad when there are only 5,200 residential homes in a 25km radius... thats when you know you live right out in the sticks LMAO! Has anyone else done advertising thru the post? How well did it work for you?

I never used the post, but I did use "Publi-sac".
It cost about 45$ per 1000 flyers (printed by me) and I could choose which streets/neighborhoods I wanted them in. I could choose if I wanted to bother with apartment blocks.
I could do 1000 at a time, or 10,000. Whatever suited me or I could afford at the time.

I usually had a minimum of 3 calls per 1000 flyers. They paid for themselves.

BUT

The very first time wasn't very successful. I blame it entirely on the 'flyer' I created and not the method. Once I finessed the wording on my flyer, the calls came in.

Sometimes it's not what you use to advertise your services, but in 'HOW' you advertise/promote your services.
Advertising is TRICKY

Good luck:!:

Thanks Hunter... and don't worry - I'm not going anywhere near your area lmao! I'm only extending as far out as Ormstown for now. But ya, I thought of the publi-sac but wasn't sure how expensive it was. From what you've said, it's actually a lot cheaper than the post, let me tell you! Printing and sending thru the post cost me $207 to 1,200 homes. I think I'm gonna give publi-sac a call today however, lmao! Thanks a lot for telling me this (now I only wish it was 2 days ago I knew this, lol)

OH CRAP! I wish you'd asked LOL

I'm not worried

I won't go near cow-town either :lol::hug:

You want to let me have a look at your flyer? I can show you mine. I 'know' it works because it has.
Gimme a call and I'll give ya a hand:green:

Fingers crossed for you that the hard work pays off

You recon 5200 homes in a 25k radius isnt a lot.....let me tell you where I live there aint no houses for a good few miles and the whole population of the nearest town is about 1000...and most of em are related

Still.... could save a fortune on flyers and I dont have to que at the butchers shop :lol:

Totally agree with Victoria, its "How" you word your advertising.. I do all my mailshots myself, (still doing them).

I didnt use our local postal service... to paranoid! :irked: I thought if i didnt get any calls then, they didnt deliver them!

However If I delivered them then I know it was not a non delivery situation, but perhaps my advertising or just lack of interest.

Luckily I have had an excellent response & doing ok.

Hairdressing salons are my main source (that dont do nails or tanning of course) I always take a tin of sweets in every now & then to say thanks when I get clients forwaded to me.

Good Luck out there..:) I hope you do well.
