I was considering doing an eyelash extension course but i really dont know anything about it and have never had it done on myself. Would appreicate it if people could tell me the following -

Is it fairly easy to pick up and learn and more importantly to get good at?
Who are the best training providers and why?
What should i expect to pay for training and products for getting started etc?
How much would i be able to charge for the treament and how long does it take?

I knwo there is alot on here about this but was just looking for some fresh opinions really, thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, firstly, there are MANY threads on here that will answer all of your questions and more, but just to help you out....

I think initially it is a tricky service to learn, but after practive it does become alot easier.

There are alot of trainers, for example, Lash Perfect, Flirties, Hollywood, Novalash, Blink & Go to name but a few and they all have there pros and cons-this does need research to find the one that suits you the best.

Training prices do vary from roughly 300+ including kit, although I am sure you can get training cheaper and buy your kit separatly-again research is needed.

The amount you charge I find, depends on your local area. You could expect to charge anything from brtween 30 (although personally I think this is way too cheap) to £125 (and again personally I think this is quite expensive).

Treatment time starts off at about 3 hours when first training, but most I find get this down to about 1.5 - 2 hours. With loads of practice this can be lowered some more.

I hope this has helped.

Hi, I have never had the lash extensions done either, so I was really nervous about doing the training etc. I spent ages before deciding on who to go with.

I would say the general what to do is fairly easy to pick up, but you really will need to practice to get used to isolating the lash. This is the bit I am still finding really difficult. I am very, very new to lashes as I did my training about a month ago.

Training is generally around the £150 mark, but some places are more expensive. Kits range dramatically in price from £75 for a student kit to over £500 for salon kits.

The amount to charge would be dependent on your area, but really anywhere between £50 and £100 for an average.

From what I have read, most of the courses are very similar to each other. Best thing to do is search a bit more on here and get a feel for a company. It is hard, I found it so difficult to decide.

The companies I narrowed it down to were: Nouveau, Lash Xpert and Glam Lash, and there are many more out there.
I went with Glam Lash.

Hope that helps xxx

Hi ya,

Lash extensions has become a huge service to clients, its very popular and has been around for more years than you would think. It has only become big in the last few years as the prices have come down from the top celeb prices to the average persons affordability.

Prices vary by area, products that you use, time that you take etc. Prices start really anywhere from about £40 upto £100+.

You would need to research your market to find a price that suits you and possibly run some offers to build up your clientel.

Training wise. Some people are either very naturally good at it, others will find it harder to pick up. But as they say practise makes perfect.

You need to have patients to sit for long periods and it can be very fiddly.

Trainers again will vary this is something your would need to research and im sure everyone on here will be happy to advise you.
We offer training, our prices start from £150 without a kit or £350 with a kit. This training included 1 intial day and 1 assessment day for troubleshooting. We are based in Romford Essex. I will PM you details

Good Luck .... i hope you make lots of money!! xx

HI Gemma,

the others are right, lashes have become hugely popular and the average cost is between £85 and £125 depending on your area and what your competition is like. And then you have the regular infills with your clients also

Its difficult to predict whether you find it easy or hard but we have found that if you already offer other treatments say like nails you will find it very quick to pick up. As with everything, its not rocket science but just knowing how and getting the necessary practice!

Have a look around for some recommendations but i would definitely go with a company that can train and provide the product, and that can offer an accredited course with as few students as possible so that you basically have the trainer for yourself and can learn as much as possible!

Definately make sure you find a course that is accredited, without this you will not be insured to carry out the treatment. Fewer the learners on the course the more individual time you get to practise

HI Gemma,
accredited course with as few students as possible so that you basically have the trainer for yourself and can learn as much as possible!

As everyone has said research each company.

Something to remember too is customer service from the training provider. Once you've finished your training course and say good bye to the trainer should not be the last contact. You need a company that you get a good feel from and believe when they say contact us any time. I feel like I can contact my training provider anytime.

I love doing this treatment. I love how intricate it is and I love it when I hand the client a morror at the end. I think they can make such a difference to a persons look.
