    Blotchy tan?

Are the patches in exactly the same place and the shape each time? If so it is likely to be due to changes within the body so hormones or new medication. If not then it will probably be down to residue from products, deodorant overspray, jewellery or clothing. I had a client that had a...

    'Fake tan look'

I stock both Nouvatan and LA Tan for this very reason. I find a lot of my younger clients prefer the brown tan compared to golden as they believe it to be darker. I have to say I love LA too, its not Orange or fake just a deeper colour compared to Nouvatan. Hth x

Spray tan dark patches on face-picture too!

Are the patches in exactly the same place or have they varied slightly with each tan?

    Clear bridal solution recommendations please

I haven't used any with a clear guide colour but know they are available to buy. I think if you have a search their are some older threads referring to clear guide colours. Personally I don't really see the point in them for bridal only really for people with sensitivity to bronzing...

    Airbrush tanning

I think it depends on your place in the market. My clients are fairly price & time sensitive so would not pay more for essentially the same treatment that takes longer to complete. Celeb's are in a different league, wouldn't mind some off their business though. If it would make me more money...

    Airbrush tanning

I just don't see the point in airbrush tanning when their are HVLP's that do a quicker job and offer better economy. The only reason I would use an airbrush for tanning would be for contouring. It just seems a little out dated tbh. Just my opinion though :)

Ice queen make up request-advice please

If you are using glue then I would suggest you use a washable glue as standard body glue is not suitable on the face. This is mainly due to the fact it lasts approx 7 days and needs alcohol (or similar) to remove. Facade bodyart sells washable glue and cosmetic grade glitters that are suitable...

    Eyebrows going white/grey

Haha I have one white eyebrow hair too and I'm 32. I pluck it out!

Rapid tans - whho uses what?

I stock LA tan and Nouvatan. I love LA fast, great colour and nice fade off. I love Nouvatan but personally prefer it in lighter %'s. It works well as a rapid tan and gives a nice colour. I like its versatility as it can be used as a dark 20% tan (full development), a fast tan or mixed with...

    Streaky spray tan - Help!

I had a client with a very similar problem recently. Sprayed her numerous times and then started getting white streaks on arms, always in the same place. We worked out that it coincided with her changing her pill. She stopped taking it (for other reasons) and following tan was fine again...

Spray tanning client with skin cancer

You need to contact your insurance company to ensure you are covered to spray this client before taking it any further x

    6% spray tan

Nouvatan do a 6% now and you can buy sample bottles. I always use Nouvatan on my bridal clients :)

    Mouthsore and tanning?

Good question Mick. If it was a cold sore I wouldn't want to touch it for fear of spreading the virus (highly contagious). If it was crusted over I wouldn't worry about it but not sure what I'd do if it was weeping. I'm surprised (and glad) I haven't come across it yet lol! Sorry I'm not much...

How to keep spray tan area clean?

I would suggest that you invest in an extractor fan or extractor system if you are worried about the mess. As pp's have posted if you are spraying correctly then the over spray will be minimal. The very nature of spray tanning will mean that some of the solution particles will be airborne and...

    Spray tan gun splutter

You need to strip your gun down and clean it properly. You also need to take out your filter and clean it with soapy water. I also had a problem recently spraying a client (luckily my friend) and it stopped spraying. Turned out I had pushed the weight up the pick up tube too far, tube had...

    Client went green, help!

I advise all clients not to use Dove. It is a nightmare for spray tanners. If used before the tan it creates a barrier on the skin and the tan doesn't take properly, probably due to the moisturisers in the product. If used after a tan it seems to strip it quicker, possibly due to its Ph level...

    No show, invoicing them cancellation?

Personally I would leave it. If she tries to book in again just advise you need a non-refundable deposit. Saves any animosity but will get your point across loud and clear :)

It looks to me like a hand mark!

    Clients cancelling!

Personally I don't send reminder texts as find this gives them the opening to cancel and move appointments. Cancellations seem to be part of the job though which annoys me! Like we have nothing better to do with our lives and our bills don't need paying!

    Spray gun over spraying

This video posted by Nouvatan Steve should help. I would also suggest that you do the couch roll test before every tan to ensure you gun is set correctly x http://www.salongeek.com/skin-geek/167996-maximist-ts20-gun-cleaning-set-up-video.html
