I had some acylic nails put on about 4 weeks ago and they are starting to hurt my nail bed & have got little chips in the suface of them, is this natural to happen ? And what is the safest way to take the nails off ? what are the infills ? what do the infills do ? and is it best to have the infills or take them off and have new ones put on ? Please help

Ok, if applied properly enhancements willnot hurt your natural nail, if you are feeling pain I would say that (assuming you had tips applied) the tips were too small for your nails and are therefore squeezing your nail in turn causing the pain-not to mention harmful trauma to your natural nail.
The safest way and really the only way is to go to a salon or nail tech to have them removed professionally with professional acetone.
Infills are where after 2-3 weeks your natural nail has grown and a nail tech will 'infill' the gap between the enhancement and your cuticle by filing down and reapplying new acrylic.
As you are experiencing pain I would suggest you have them removed and new ones applied.
ENHANCEMENTS ARE A PLEASURABLE EXPERIENCE, NEVER SHOULD THEY BE PAINFUL!

It is possible that these enhancements are now just 'tip heavy' as the nautural nail has grown so much in the 4 weeks they have been on. This can cuase some discomfort and also cause the lifting mentioned.
Without seeing them I would rather not say if they should come off or stay on as I don't like to speculate.

If I were you I would make an appointment for a maintenace treatment be it an infill ( where the new nail growth is filled in with product) or a rebalance ( where the enhancement is rebalanced renewing the apex and smile line).
Your Nail technician will know which is necessary....or even if they have been left without mainaining for too long and need soaked off.(professionally removed)

Most maintenance treatments should be within 2-3 weeks to stop the enhancements becoming tip heavy. HTH

Did you apply the nails yourself ?
