I have just been roped into doing a chest wax tommorrow for charity. I have only did this once before as I don't do male clients.

Could anyone give me any tips? I want to do a good job and not hurt the poor guy too much!

I will be using a wax pot and spatula although I may have my new clean & easy roller wax kit by tom but not sure if this would drag too much on the hair?

Help!!

Do you have to do chests can't you do legs.Chests can really hurt and blood spot and its almost like a bad advert for male waxing. It would be nice to think you might even get some work from it.
i wouldn't use the roller it really pulls on longer hair and will also be unhygienic unless you have lots of heads.Be aware that if their chests bleed you will not be able to double dip your spatulas.
I sound like a kill joy but i just wouldn't do it.
If you do still do it you may have to trim and then take the hair from a strip down the middle first so you have a clean area to work from either side.
Have a look in the beauty tutorials at Gorilla warfare that Axiom wrote.

Thanks, I wish I could get out of it but everyone is expecting it as the main attraction now! It is only one guy and it is being done at a bbq.

I might suggest a half leg wax instead but I cant see the crowd going for that! I

Wish me luck! :irked:

Oh if its only one you will probably be fine,i had a vision of you doing a whole row of screaming men :).Good luck and dont forget to have a look at that tutorial.

Slip the poor guy a couple of ibuprofen half an hour before hand to make it easier for him and you,
trim his hair so it is not too long,
use oil as a lipid barrier (not too much) this makes it less painful too,
as Gillian said, remove a strip of hair all the down the centre first,
then you will be able to work from the outside in and it will be much quicker and easier for you both, hth

You really shouldn't attempt a chest wax if you're not experienced.....shame he didn't go for a back wax.

You must apply oil, have your wax really thin, really rub your strip and stretch the skin when removing. Make sure that you note the change in direction of hair around the collarbone. If you don't you'll bruise him and he'll be in agony.

Good luck and I hope you both raise lots of money.
