I really hope someone can help me or give some advice.

My electric beauty couch has stopped working  bascially the wires have come loose from the bottom of the remote control handset, the wires are exposed & I think must have come away from the circuit - so I think they need reconnecting.

I bought my couch about 8 years ago from someone one of my clients knew who was packing in beauty - therefore no company contact details or warrenty.

I have tried phoning a few electricians but no-one will touch it & they all say it needs a specialist.

I have tried googling the name of the couch & its an Italian company with no uk based stockists, I have emailed them in Italy.

Does anyone have any tips or advice? x

Hmm, how about seeing if there's a company in the area who repairs things like electric wheelchairs, stairlifts, etc, as I'd imagine the skillset required to repair your couch control would be similar to that required to repair things like wheelchairs and stairlifts. I know Sonia's had problems with cables on her electric wheelchairs in the past, and a bloke at a local company called Ableworld has always been really good at fixing them!

Just a thought - I know it's a bit random - but worth a try if nothing else :)

Oh no, how annoying!!

This happened to me recently but mine is only a couple of years old and I purchased a new handset straightaway.

When I replaced mine, the guy did tell me that I could open the handset and solder the wires back in place ... is your husband/boyfriend/dad any good with this kind of thing - it could be worth a try.

Actually - ironically - it's the sort of thing I'd have a go at personally if I lived closer - assuming that it wouldn't cause any problems with the "Health & Schmafety" thought police lol...

I've already soldered the power jack on my Acer laptop twice this year, and have always liked playing around with electronics lol...

Is it a Lemi one by any chance? I've had kinda the same problem. I took mine apart and it doesnt look too complicated inside. Luckily, the wires are still connected to the circuit board on mine, its just the wire coming out of the remote thats fraying. So I have plastered it in electrical tape to secure it.

Thank you so much for all your replies;

Ruth - I didnt think of an electrican that does electric wheelchairs/stairlifts etc thank you, I will try looking into that.

I am going to try & unscrew the back tomorrow, only thing is the screws look old & very shallow as I tried before with a normal screwdriver, so will take a selection & have a play around.

My Dad does have a soldering iron thing I think, so if I can get into it the inside of the remote, hopefully it might be clear what needs to be re-connected.

Katelisa - I hope mine is something simple like that too.
The make of the couch is Rognoni Divisone Salute, & the number on the handset is HB64M-01.
After hours of googling last night I found the makers of the control are called "Linak" which I think are uk based - so I have emailed them too.

Fingers crossed this gets sorted soon, I am dreading bending down doing my 4 hours of waxing clients tomorrow!!

You dont realise how much you depend on something until its gone! x:rolleyes:x

Hi Emma,

Having just been volunteered by my wife to repair a friend's with the same problem. Having ben googling this, I came across your message.

If you're stuck and haven't managed to get it fixed yet if you post it to me I could have a look at it. If I can't fix it I'll post it back and it's only cost you the postage.

Kind regards,

Pete Richards
