Im struggling with bikini waxing! It is not my favourite thing to do and i find it difficult to wax all the hairs off. Everytime i do a bikini wax when i wax at the sides of the bikini line and lower down and underneath the wax gets stuck! i use warm cream wax and i dont know if im applying the wax too thick but it happens everytime!-The strip gets stuck to the wax and hairs and the strip doesnt rip off right and gets stuck leaving the wax in a big clump on the hairs! which is uncomfortable for the client obviously! What advice can anyone give please to stop this happening!? Help!!

Many of us on here are using non-strip wax for bikini lines. Have you ever used non-strip wax? (also known as hot wax or hard wax.) If not, you could get some and have a play with it? It takes hair off very cleanly and with much less trauma to the skin. Check it out!

I too use non-strip wax. It's much gentler and i wouldn't use anything else on intimate waxing.
Maybe you could try trimming the hairs so there is less for the wax to get stuck in
Are you stretching the skin whilst applying the wax? This will make it easier to get a good straight edge so will be easier to remove.
Use oil before and after waxing. The oil will help getting any remaining residue of wax off.
Try ripping the strip in smaller sections and brace the skin as you are removing. Also make sure you are not pulling the strip upwards as this will not remove the wax effectively and will break the hairs and be most uncomfortable for your client.

ye i used hot wax when i was at college but found it a little messy i wasnt keen! i just want to know what im doing wrong with this problem with the wax and strip sticking to the hairs!?

Thanks for the advice i will try to apply less wax and hold the skin more and see how i go!

By the way do you mean baby oil? if i rub this on the clump of wax left on the hairs and skin will it get it off???

Thanks il check it out

The new generation non strip wax is a lot different to the hot wax that they teach you with in college,
if you don't enjoy doing the bikini wax or are nervous due to the problems you are having it may be a better idea to have some training using the non strip wax to help build your confidence and learn how to use it to its full potential,
send me a pm if you want any details of training close to you, hth

There is a very good tutorial on here for bikini with warm waxing by Katelisa which i am sure will help you.
Its all very well everyone saying get some non strip wax but advice for warm strip wax is needed also because not everyone is going to be able to use non strip, either they have no training or they are working in a salon that doesn't and won't use it.
I would say try a different cream wax or turn yours up slightly it may well be too cool so too thick so it sets too quickly. If its not nice and fluid at a low temperature change your wax.You need to get it down to the skin so be firm with your spatula and stretch skin when putting on not just when taking off.Do small sections and take off imediately and trim long hair.

Switch to hot wax (non strip wax), it will change your working life.

However, in the meantime! My guess is that as you go underneath, you're not pressing your wax right down to the skin, and you're just floating it over the hairs. Really rub your strip over the wax and then RIP. By RIP, I mean be strong and be fast. Make sure that you stretch the skin. It will also help if you remove a very small bit at a time.

Having said all that, I would never use strip wax on the bikini area. Are you near Pontefract? I'm training there next month, so PM me if you'd like details. xxx

Thanks for the advice everyone il try stretching the skin more and pressing the wax in harder i think i was doing it abit lighter before. Im nt near pontefract no! i am goin to go to salon of one of my teachers at the college i trained at as she said she will spent a day with me showing me the hot wax she uses for bikini, so i hope this helps me aswel as all your advice xx

by the way everyone while im stil using warm wax is honey wax better than cream wax? does it remove the hairs easier? because i do find sometimes that when iv used honey in the past on other areas its less thick so would this be better for the bikini line instead of cream wax?

You won't look back once you switch to hot wax. You'll love it and so will your clients. xxx

Honey wax heats to a higher temperature than creme waxes so it will be thinner. If you are applying the wax too thick then the honey wax may be easier for you.
I did a bikini wax today on one of my beauticians clients as my beautician left early and she needed it today.
I use non-strip wax and when i pulled the first strip off she actually leant up off the bed to look and said 'oh, i usually brace myself for the pull but i hardly felt that!'.
That's the difference between strip and non-strip wax!

:)I use warm wax from salon system just wax(soft wax) I find that one the best wax . Cut your strips in half the long ways and it's less painfull for the client. Doing the underneath it not very modest for the client but put there leg up, make the hold underneath the knee and tell them to stretch there leg back as far as it will go. The skin will be frimer and won't be as painfull for the client when you pull the strip of. But you will have to stretch the skin as well, might take you a few try's also watch your head as the like to kick it as well.

I agree - for doing underneath - ask the client to pull her knee towards her chest . By doing this the skin is already being stretched - then you can stretch it further. It's much easier.

I have had brazalian waxes done for years with non-strip wax. The last two i had done were with strip wax and i felt no difference whatsoever.

I think sometimes its down to the therapist and the stretching!!!:)
